Chapter 27
Zachary stared at Genevieve, momentarily stunned.
His expression shifted from pale to furious. He clenched his fists so hard that his knuckles blanched. In the end, he couldn’t hold back anymore.”
He ground out through his teeth, “Stop acting arrogant, Genevieve. After everything you’ve done, you’re afraid people might talk? Who knows how many men you’ve been with? And now, you’re turning it back on me? In the end, you’re no better than anyone else!”
The moment the words left his mouth, the air seemed to freeze.
Hannah’s eyes widened, her body tensing as if she were about to lunge at him.
A few younger employees in the studio muttered angrily under their breath. Someone had already quietly pulled out a phone to record the scene.
Genevieve only let out a cold laugh. She didn’t look rattled for even a single second.
She walked over at an unhurried pace and stopped in front of Zachary. Looking down at him, she lifted her slender hand and slapped him hard across the face.
The entire studio went so quiet that it felt like a pin could hit the floor.
“Use your brain before you speak,” Genevieve said flatly. “When your mind is dirty, everything you look at turns dirty.”
Zachary’s mind went blank from the hit. Instinctively, he reached for her. “You hit me? Genevieve, don’t push it-”
Before he could finish speaking, Hannah and two burly men stepped in to block him. One man clamped a hand on his shoulder while the other seized his arm, and together they dragged him toward the door.
“Hey! Let go of me! I’m here to discuss a partnership!” Zachary yelled as he struggled. However, no one paid him any
attention.
Hannah said coldly, “Our boss doesn’t work with trash, and we don’t welcome anyone who storms in throwing a fit. Mind your behavior.”
They hauled him all the way out and shoved him through the doorway.
When the glass door clicked shut, Zachary was still pounding on it in rage, but no one inside spared him a single glance. Inside, only hushed whispers and looks of contempt filled the room.
Just then, an employee hurried in and handed Genevieve an anonymous packet. “Ms. Whitfield, this delivery just arrived. They said it’s important and that you should open it yourself.”
Genevieve took the envelope and opened it. Inside was a stack of detailed documents and several photographs, clearly laying out evidence of Lambert Group’s covert violations over the past few years.
At the end of it, only two sentences were written. It read, “A gift for you. I hope you like it.”
Genevieve’s gaze darkened.
So, this was what Zachary had been doing since taking over Lambert Group. If Raymond found out about it, Zachary wouldn’t have enough lives to pay for it.
That only made Genevieve more curious about who had sent such a “gift”.
She gathered herself quickly, handed the packet to Hannah for safekeeping, and said, “Store it securely. We may need it later.

Hannah nodded. “Understood.”
Genevieve was about to continue assigning work when her gaze flicked to the window and landed on a car parked below.
She saw Tristan leaning against the car in a sharply tailored suit. His tall, composed figure stood out in the afternoon sunlight.
He looked up through the glass window and met Genevieve’s eyes. A subtle, knowing smile played at the corners of his lips.
Genevieve’s brows drew together, thinking that it was bad luck.
Why was Tristan here?
