Elaine had no intention of being here today, especially after a disagreement with her daughter the night before regarding her desire to move out of their home.<\/p>\n

Unexpectedly, she received a call from Christopher, asking her and Jacob to join them in exploring the properties.<\/p>\n

What did they expect her to do? Wasn\u2019t this just a way for them to flaunt their plans to buy a house at Thompson First?<\/p>\n

Feeling uncomfortable, Elaine didn\u2019t dare refuse her elder brother\u2019s invitation, so she and Jacob hurried over as soon as she got the call.<\/p>\n

This, in part, explained Elaine\u2019s frustration with Charlie. If only she had a more capable son-in-law, perhaps she could also live in Thompson First!<\/p>\n

At that moment, Elaine turned to Hannah with a flattering smile, saying, \u201cSister-in-Law, you\u2019re truly impressive! I can\u2019t believe you\u2019re buying a house in Thompson First! I\u2019m so envious right now! You\u2019re actually going for the two hundred and forty square meter house! Do you realize how luxurious that is? Despite her irritation with her elder brother\u2019s family, Elaine knew she had to flatter them.<\/p>\n

Hannah was so furious she felt like she might explode!<\/p>\n

In truth, she had summoned Jacob and Elaine to witness her purchasing a first-rate high-rise condominium unit at Thompson First, intending to show off in front of them.<\/p>\n

What she hadn\u2019t anticipated was Elaine\u2019s son-in-law being so successful\u2014he owned the largest villa in Thompson First!<\/p>\n

Elaine felt a wave of envy wash over her, her jealousy palpable.<\/p>\n

Hannah\u2019s family was moving into a villa worth at least one hundred million dollars! How could Elaine claim to be envious? And why was she going on about not being able to afford such luxury? Was this some kind of sarcasm?<\/p>\n

Elaine was confused. Trying to flatter Hannah, she realized that Hannah misinterpreted her motives. Why would she look down on them? If she truly felt that way, why would she be complimenting them?<\/p>\n

Determined to mend things, Elaine quickly continued, \u201cOh! Sister-in-Law, how could I ever compare to you? It\u2019s like comparing a candle to the sun! I would never look down on you! You\u2019re about to start a wonderful new chapter at Thompson First! Meanwhile, look at me\u2014I\u2019m still stuck in a small, dilapidated house. You wouldn\u2019t believe how rundown it is! Of course, I envy you!\u201d<\/p>\n

Hannah was livid, her anger rendering her speechless.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, her husband, Christopher, stood next to her, teeth clenched in frustration. \u201cElaine, do you find it amusing to provoke and mock us? Aren\u2019t you moving into a villa at Thompson First? What\u2019s your point here?\u201d<\/p>\n

Christopher then directed his glare at his younger brother, Jacob, saying, \u201cJacob, do you still consider me your brother? Have you lost all respect for your mother? How could you keep something like this from us? You own a villa here, and you didn\u2019t even mention it?\u201d<\/p>\n

Jacob looked taken aback. \u201cA villa? What villa are you talking about? Brother, are you planning to buy a villa instead? You\u2019re so wealthy!\u201d<\/p>\n
