Yet, he didn\u2019t have the courage to confront Charlie directly. When he saw Charlie bidding on a pearl necklace, he quickly placed a bid himself, eager to challenge him.<\/p>\n

Charlie glanced at Adam briefly before turning his attention back to the auctioneer, continuing to bid. \u201cSeven hundred thousand dollars!\u201d<\/p>\n

Jacob, unable to remain seated any longer, stood up and warned Charlie, \u201cCharlie, just let it go. There\u2019s no point in getting into a bidding war with him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie simply smiled and replied, \u201cJust watch how I handle this.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then, he raised his hand decisively and announced, \u201cEight million dollars!\u201d<\/p>\n

A wave of shock swept through the auction hall at that moment.<\/p>\n

While someone else was bidding eight hundred thousand dollars, Charlie had just jumped to eight million? Was he out of his mind?<\/p>\n

Charlie regarded Adam with disdain and said, \u201cMr. Quinton, are you giving up already? You seem to be struggling to keep up.\u201d<\/p>\n

At that, laughter erupted in the room.<\/p>\n

Adam\u2019s face turned red as he shot back, \u201cYou\u2019re infuriating! Who says I can\u2019t afford the pearl necklace? I\u2019m just not foolish enough to pay eight million dollars for something worthless. I\u2019m really curious to see how you plan to pay for it!\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie smirked and replied, \u201cIf you can\u2019t afford it, just admit it. There\u2019s no need for all this back-and-forth.\u201d<\/p>\n

With that, the auctioneer brought down his gavel.<\/p>\n

As the assistant approached Charlie with a wireless credit card machine, she said, \u201cMr. Wade, please process your payment now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Adam felt a flush of embarrassment wash over him.<\/p>\n

How infuriating! That young man actually had the funds to pay for the necklace!<\/p>\n

Feeling humiliated, Adam gritted his teeth and declared, \u201cCharlie, I won\u2019t back down in the next bid!\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie nodded casually and replied, \u201cAlright, let\u2019s see how it goes with the next item.\u201d<\/p>\n

Adam could not comprehend Charlie\u2019s boldness, nor did he realize that his uncle had given Charlie access to his black card.<\/p>\n

Before long, several more items were auctioned off, leading up to the introduction of a semi-finished topaz jade.<\/p>\n
