Charlie glanced at the celadon cups that his father-in-law was holding and instantly recognized that they were fakes, worth only a few hundred dollars.<\/p>\n

Just then, Jacob beamed and exclaimed, \u201cHaha! I got these for just three hundred dollars! Isn\u2019t that incredible?\u201d<\/p>\n

He knew the cups were fake, but he didn\u2019t want to spoil Jacob\u2019s joy, especially since it was rare for the old man to be so elated.<\/p>\n

Jacob was in high spirits, practically prancing about like a cat that had just caught a fish! He continued, \u201cThe seller mentioned that this isn\u2019t the complete set. His boss is bringing the rest to the shop tomorrow. I plan to check it out and try to buy the entire set! If I get all the celadon cups, their value could skyrocket! Who knows, we might even sell the whole set for six million dollars!\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie frowned and quickly interjected, \u201cDad, it\u2019s risky to be overly ambitious when trading antiques. I think just having two of these cups is enough. Let\u2019s reconsider\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Jacob shot Charlie a glare and scolded him, \u201cWhat makes you think you can give me advice on antiques? Are you trying to stop me?\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie quickly replied, \u201cNo, no, please go ahead with what you want.\u201d<\/p>\n

After that, he decided to let it go.<\/p>\n

After all, even if Jacob got taken advantage of, it wasn\u2019t his money at stake.<\/p>\n

Elaine quickly interjected, \u201cIf the cups are truly valuable, you must ensure you secure them tomorrow!\u201d<\/p>\n

The two elders continued to marvel at the cups while Claire quietly pulled Charlie aside.<\/p>\n

\u201cI really don\u2019t trust this seller. It feels like a scam to me. Dad is definitely going back tomorrow, so can you go with him to Antique Street and make sure he doesn\u2019t get scammed?\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie immediately nodded. Honestly, if Claire hadn\u2019t mentioned it, he wouldn\u2019t have felt too concerned. But since his wife had spoken up, he couldn\u2019t just stand by and watch his father-in-law get swindled.<\/p>\n
