Jerome quickly dialed a number on his phone and shouted, \u201cZaz, I\u2019m at Silverwing Hospital. Bring a few of your guys; we\u2019ve got a brat to take care of!\u201d<\/p>\n

In contrast, Charlie chose to send a text instead of making a call. He messaged Albert Rhodes: [Come to Silverwing Hospital, someone is trying to kill me.]<\/p>\n

Almost immediately, Don Albert returned the call.<\/p>\n

\u201cMr. Wade, who is this son of a B*tch?\u201d he demanded.<\/p>\n

Charlie replied nonchalantly, \u201cLess talk, just get here.\u201d<\/p>\n

Don Albert assured him, \u201cDon\u2019t worry, Mr. Wade, I\u2019ll be there in a few minutes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jerome, noticing that Charlie was also on the phone, scoffed. \u201cHah, don\u2019t tell me you actually called for backup. That\u2019s hilarious!\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie brushed off his comment with a smile. \u201cAs I mentioned earlier, you both will experience the most painful death imaginable.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jerome burst into laughter, as if he had just heard the most amusing joke. \u201cWho do you think you are? No one in Aurous Hill dares to stand against me!\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Douglas, struggling to sit up in bed, panicked and said, \u201cCharlie, just leave! You can\u2019t win against this guy. Please don\u2019t!\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie approached him and gently tucked him back under the covers. \u201cJust lie down and relax.\u201d<\/p>\n

Still in a state of panic, Douglas insisted, \u201cYou don\u2019t understand how powerful he is! His family has a huge reputation in Aurous Hill\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie peeled a mandarin and popped a piece into Douglas\u2019s mouth. \u201cThere\u2019s no one I fear to stand against!\u201d<\/p>\n

Lily scoffed. \u201cOh, really? You\u2019re so misguided! Do you even know who you\u2019re up against?\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie interrupted her before she could elaborate. \u201cI don\u2019t care who he is; I only know he\u2019s going to be disabled for the rest of his life!\u201d<\/p>\n

He paused for effect before adding, \u201cOh, and your fate will be no different!\u201d<\/p>\n

Lily\u2019s face darkened immediately. \u201cFine! If you\u2019re so eager to die, just you wait!\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie turned to Douglas and asked, \u201cDid you tell her father, Lawson Lewis, about this?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah,\u201d Douglas replied. \u201cI gave him a call.\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie nodded. \u201cAnd what did he say?\u201d<\/p>\n

Douglas furrowed his brow in frustration. \u201cHe said it wasn\u2019t his problem! He just wanted to find a way to avoid me bothering him anymore!\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie pressed further, \u201cWhat about the ten thousand dollars you put into the restaurant? Did you ask him for a refund?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI did!\u201d Douglas\u2019s frustration grew. \u201cThat old bastard\u2026 he claimed the money was a gift from his future son-in-law! He said I had no right to ask for it back, so he refused!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHow dare he!\u201d Charlie exclaimed, anger boiling inside him. \u201cNo wonder he has such a nasty daughter; he\u2019s just as scummy!\u201d<\/p>\n

Lily, furious, shouted, \u201cWhat did you just say, Charlie? How dare you insult my father! You\u2019re playing with fire!\u201d<\/p>\n

She then clung to Jerome and pleaded, \u201cJerome, look at what he said about my father! Make him pay!\u201d<\/p>\n

Jerome was merely a player in this scenario. He was shorter and not as muscular as Charlie, who not only managed everything around the house but also lived a healthy lifestyle. If a fight broke out between them, it was clear who would come out on top.<\/p>\n

Moreover, Charlie\u2019s father had taught him Wing Chun from a young age, and even after his parents\u2019 passing, he never missed a day of training at the orphanage. His dedication meant that no one dared to bully him.<\/p>\n

In a fair fight, Jerome wouldn\u2019t stand a chance. Even five of him wouldn\u2019t be enough to take Charlie down.<\/p>\n

Jerome was aware of his predicament. He knew that confronting Charlie would only lead to his defeat. So, he took Lily\u2019s hand and comforted her. \u201cDon\u2019t worry, babe. Zaz is on his way with his crew. Once he gets here, we\u2019ll make sure he\u2019s dealt with!\u201d<\/p>\n
