Wide and bright smiles lit up the faces of Charlie\u2019s in-laws when he announced he would be purchasing a better car for them the next day.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Jacob was unaware that he had just missed out on the high-end 760 model.<\/p>\n

Claire felt a twinge of concern. After they returned to their room and freshened up, she softly asked, \u201cAre you sure you still have enough money to buy a new car? I have a little secret stash here\u2014take it with you tomorrow!\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie waved his hands dismissively. \u201cNo, I don\u2019t need your money. I still have enough saved up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Claire apologized, saying, \u201cI\u2019m really sorry. I didn\u2019t expect my mom and dad to act this way\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat do you mean?\u201d Charlie replied with a smile. \u201cYour parents are my parents too. We\u2019re a family, and I love being able to spoil them with gifts now and then.\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie reclined on his small bed on the floor, a gentle smile on his face. \u201cDon\u2019t worry! I\u2019ll get a new car for Dad tomorrow morning!\u201d<\/p>\n

Claire beamed at him. \u201cThank you, Charlie!\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie chuckled, \u201cThe pleasure is all mine, my dear!\u201d<\/p>\n

Suddenly, Claire felt a blush creep onto her cheeks as she asked, \u201cAren\u2019t you going to be cold sleeping on the floor?\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie quickly replied, \u201cNo, not at all! Seriously, I\u2019m fine!\u201d<\/p>\n

Claire pouted in annoyance. \u201cThen just go to sleep already! Dumdum!\u201d<\/p>\n

She felt the urge to invite him to share the bed, but it seemed the \u2018dumdum\u2019 didn\u2019t catch her hint\u2026<\/p>\n

Realizing his mistake, Charlie hastily said, \u201cUh, dear, it\u2019s really cold! I\u2019m shivering!\u201d<\/p>\n

Claire huffed in exasperation. \u201cIf you\u2019re cold, just grab a quilt!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSigh\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie felt a wave of regret wash over him.<\/p>\n

After a moment, he tried once more: \u201cMy dear, I think it\u2019s getting colder. I\u2019m really cold!\u201d<\/p>\n

Claire tossed a quilt onto the floor, exclaiming, \u201cHow cold can it be on a summer night? If it\u2019s that bad, I\u2019ll get you a jacket!\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie was disheartened and quietly scolded himself. It appeared that his wife had no intention of letting him sleep in bed tonight!<\/p>\n

The following morning, Claire got up early to prepare for work.<\/p>\n

Charlie made breakfast for her and handed her the car keys, saying, \u201cDrive to the office today.\u201d<\/p>\n

Claire hesitated, \u201cBut it\u2019s your car. Can I really use it?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course! You\u2019re my wife. Besides, I bought this car for you, not for myself,\u201d Charlie assured her.<\/p>\n

Claire smiled softly, taking the keys from him. \u201cThank you!\u201d<\/p>\n

Jacob watched their exchange with envy and chimed in, \u201cCharlie, you remember you\u2019re buying me a car today, right?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAbsolutely!\u201d Charlie replied quickly. \u201cI\u2019ll head out to buy it right away. Just wait for me to bring home the new car!\u201d<\/p>\n

Jacob grinned widely. \u201cI\u2019ll be waiting at home! Remember, I want the BMW 530; don\u2019t get it mixed up!\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie laughed, nodding in agreement. \u201cDon\u2019t worry, Dad! I\u2019ll make sure to get you that BMW 530 today!\u201d<\/p>\n

With that, he went downstairs with Claire. He opened the trunk of the BMW 760 and pulled out his little electric scooter.<\/p>\n

Claire drove off to work while Charlie hopped on his e-bike, heading to the BMW showroom once more.<\/p>\n

On his way, he passed by the Audi showroom as he approached his destination.<\/p>\n
