His friends were still watching him closely, so he clenched his teeth and sought out another contact.

This time, he reached out to the director of the district police branch, recalling that this individual had a good rapport with his father.

As soon as the call connected, he launched into the conversation, “Hi, Mr. Kent, this is Clinton Tucker. I’m facing some issues in the redevelopment zone…”

He went on to explain the situation once again.

On the other end, the man cleared his throat uncomfortably, responding, “Clinton, he’s Bill’s guy, and Bill is Don Albert’s associate. I think it’s best if you steer clear of this.”

Confused, Clinton pressed, “Aren’t you going to do anything about it?”

“You know Don Albert’s influence in this city; it’s beyond my reach,” the man replied.

Feeling flustered, Clinton panicked and asked, “Can’t you at least do me a favor and speak to him?”

The man chuckled dryly. “I’m sorry, but my hands are tied.”

Growing increasingly agitated, Clinton retorted, “Mr. Kent, I remember you were hoping for that police car donation from Emgrand Group, right? Are you not interested anymore?”

In response, the man huffed in frustration, dropping any pretense of politeness, and sneered, “Clinton Tucker, aren’t you aware that your father has been fired from Emgrand Group?”

“Fired?! When did that happen?” Clinton exclaimed, shocked.

“Just half an hour ago!” he added before abruptly ending the call. “Think it over before you reach out to anyone else.”

Scarface couldn’t help but smirk at Clinton’s bewildered expression. “What’s wrong? Can’t you find anyone to help?”

Clinton opened his mouth to respond, but Scarface suddenly swung his arm and slapped him hard across the face! The force of the blow sent Clinton stumbling back, crashing into tables and chairs!

Gasps filled the room, and everyone turned pale with shock, yet no one dared to intervene against the intimidating Scarface.

“How dare you hit me?” Clinton shouted, his face contorted with anger and resentment as he covered his cheek.

“So what?” Scarface replied with a wicked giggle before kicking Clinton in the stomach, causing him to crumple to the floor. He then pounced on him, delivering a brutal beating!

Clinton howled in pain, but not a single person stepped forward to help.

Soon, Clinton’s face was swollen and bloodied, creating a horrifying spectacle.

In a state of fear, Clinton cried out, “Boss, please! I’m sorry, just stop!”

“Sorry?” Scarface scoffed coldly. “What value does your apology hold? After how you’ve treated me, how do you expect to survive in the underworld without facing consequences?”

He then turned to his gang, shouting, “Damn it, go, kick his ass!”

The group of young thugs surged forward, raining down punches and kicks on Clinton!

Some even swung a baseball bat at him, and the brutality of the scene left everyone covering their eyes in horror.

While Clinton was being mercilessly beaten, Scarface approached Douglas and threatened, “Since your friend has been so cocky, I’m raising the original 20% to 40%! If you don’t agree, you’ll end up like him!”

Douglas felt a surge of panic; agreeing to the 40% meant he would be working for them!

Gathering what little courage he had left, he declared, “If you want 40%, you might as well just kill me now!”

Scarface frowned and responded, “Alright! Your choice!”

He pulled out a gleaming knife from his pocket, and gasps filled the air as the spectators recoiled in fear.

As Scarface advanced toward Douglas, Charlie shouted, “Put the knife down!”

Scarface turned, exasperated, and cursed, “Who the hell wants to die this time?”

Clinton was taken aback by Mr. Lee’s sudden reaction, feeling a mix of confusion and irritation.
