As Clinton turned around, he caught sight of Charlie celebrating at the finish line with Claire, and he nearly fainted!<\/p>\n

What on earth was happening?<\/p>\n

How could the BMW 520 outperform the 540 so dramatically?<\/p>\n

No way! That guy must have modified his car!<\/p>\n

How dare he use a modified vehicle to outsmart him? Unbelievable!<\/p>\n

As he parked his car and stormed out, seething with anger, he confronted Charlie: \u201cYou modified your car, didn\u2019t you? That\u2019s why it\u2019s so powerful! You cheated me! This race is null and void!\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie smirked and replied, \u201cCome on, Clinton! Didn\u2019t you say that skill and courage outweigh the car\u2019s specifications? Now that you\u2019ve lost, are you going to go back on your own words?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, I\u2019m not!\u201d Panic flickered in Clinton\u2019s eyes as he scrambled for an excuse. \u201cYou cheated, it\u2019s unfair!\u201d<\/p>\n

Loreen shot him a disdainful look and chimed in, \u201cClinton, you\u2019re going back on your promise, you pathetic loser! Remember what you said? Whoever breaks the bet will face dire consequences!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cExactly!\u201d murmured the crowd, who had been anticipating Charlie\u2019s defeat but were now irritated by Clinton\u2019s blatant disregard for his own words. They recognized him as a sore loser unwilling to honor a bet he had instigated!<\/p>\n

Someone shouted, \u201cClinton, you\u2019re such a coward! Everyone here witnessed you challenge Charlie to this race. You even claimed that engine power didn\u2019t matter and made that outrageous bet about consequences. Now you want to renege? Are you saying you won\u2019t honor your bet even if your family\u2019s life is at stake?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah!\u201d a girl added, \u201cWe always thought you were brave and responsible, but now we see you\u2019re just a coward who can\u2019t keep his word!\u201d<\/p>\n

Another voice piped up, \u201cNow it\u2019s clear what kind of person you are! Just a double standard loser! If Charlie had lost, you wouldn\u2019t have let him off the hook! But now that you\u2019ve lost, you\u2019re making excuses. Pathetic!\u201d<\/p>\n

Clinton\u2019s face turned a mix of green and red, his anger boiling. He had just bought that car for over seven hundred thousand dollars less than a month ago! The thought of igniting the fireworks inside it was unbearable!<\/p>\n

This car was his prized possession! Normally, he wouldn\u2019t tolerate even the slightest scratch or speck of dust on it\u2014why would he willingly destroy it?<\/p>\n

But the disdain from his friends was palpable. If he continued this charade, they would distance themselves from him and spread rumors about his dishonorable actions and broken promises.<\/p>\n

His mind raced with the potential fallout.<\/p>\n

If he didn\u2019t set off the fireworks, he would be ridiculed!<\/p>\n

Suddenly, Charlie broke the tension. \u201cClinton, we\u2019re all friends here. Some jokes aren\u2019t meant to be taken seriously. Since your car is so valuable, why don\u2019t we just forget about it?\u201d<\/p>\n

Clinton felt a wave of relief wash over him.<\/p>\n

However, the crowd began to murmur, \u201cWow, Charlie is such a gentleman! Clinton is the real jerk here!\u201d<\/p>\n
