Who was Mr. Wade? As Don Albert stormed into the room, he zeroed in on Bill, bringing him crashing to the floor. \u201cYou idiot! How could you not recognize Mr. Wade? I\u2019ll kill you for this!\u201d Albert raged, delivering frantic kicks to Bill, who moments earlier had been radiating arrogance and confidence but was now curled up, whimpering like a beaten dog.<\/p>\n

Loreen watched in genuine confusion. What was happening? The rest of the men were equally alarmed. Was the young man truly Mr. Wade? They had come perilously close to crossing a line they shouldn\u2019t have!<\/p>\n

Albert glared at the group and barked, \u201cAnd you lot! Why are you standing there like a bunch of fools? Apologize to Mr. Wade right now!\u201d<\/p>\n

In unison, the men dropped to their knees, pleading, \u201cMr. Wade, we\u2019re so very sorry! We were foolish not to recognize you! Please forgive us!\u201d Bill, trembling with fear, slapped himself in the face while begging for mercy. \u201cMr. Wade, I apologize deeply! Spare me, please!\u201d Albert followed suit, punishing himself and nervously stating, \u201cMr. Wade, I\u2019m sorry for my incompetence that led my boys to offend you and your friends.\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie glanced at Loreen and coolly remarked, \u201cI\u2019m just here to treat my wife\u2019s friend to a meal.\u201d He then turned to the others and added coldly, \u201cThey are not my friends.\u201d<\/p>\n

Loreen was completely taken aback! Charlie wasn\u2019t joking after all. He had indeed made a reservation at Heaven Springs, and it was in the opulent Diamond Suite. Most importantly, this suite had been booked for him by none other than Don Albert! As she reflected on her previous disdain for Charlie, a wave of embarrassment washed over her.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Harold quaked in fear upon hearing their conversation. What was happening? Charlie, the so-called loser, was actually friends with Don Albert? How could this be? Wendy was equally stunned. It was true; Charlie really knew Don Albert, and Albert was being exceptionally courteous! Her gaze shifted back to Gerald, who had fainted in a pool of his own blood.<\/p>\n

Wiping the cold sweat from his brow, Don Albert assured Charlie, \u201cMr. Wade, don\u2019t worry. This will never happen again. You\u2019re welcome to come to Heaven Springs and use the Diamond Suite whenever you wish. If my men fail to recognize you again, I\u2019ll gouge their eyes out myself!\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie nodded and said to Loreen, \u201cWe\u2019ve finished our meal, so let\u2019s leave this chaos behind.\u201d <\/p>\n

Loreen, regaining her composure, asked anxiously, \u201cWhat about them?\u201d She glanced at Harold, Gerald, and Wendy, who were in a dire state.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet Albert take care of them,\u201d Charlie replied calmly.<\/p>\n

\u201cMr. Wade, don\u2019t worry! I\u2019ll call for an ambulance and get them to the hospital right away!\u201d Albert declared.<\/p>\n

\u201cOkay,\u201d Charlie responded, \u201cI\u2019ll leave everything to you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Still dazed, Loreen followed Charlie out of Heaven Springs. Her heart raced, and her breath was heavy even after they had exited the restaurant. Stealing a glance at Charlie, she noted his calm demeanor, as if nothing had transpired. He seemed shrouded in mystery, more profound than ever.<\/p>\n

\u201cCharlie, about today\u2026\u201d she began, but he cut her off, speaking in a detached tone.<\/p>\n

\u201cLoreen, I need you to keep today\u2019s events a secret, please. If Claire finds out I\u2019m associated with someone like Don Albert, she\u2019ll be furious.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reluctantly, Loreen nodded. \u201cAlright, I understand.\u201d<\/p>\n

After Charlie and Loreen departed, Albert promptly called for an ambulance to take the injured to the hospital. Wendy suffered fractures to her facial skeleton from the assault, leaving her disfigured. Harold had a completely broken arm that would take time to heal, and he had also sustained a severe concussion from the blow to his head. Although he was stable after emergency treatment, the lingering effects of the brain injury would haunt him for the rest of his life.<\/p>\n
