She had no idea Harold was so well-connected in Aurous Hill. Compared to Charlie, he seemed far more reliable. She thought it would be easier to build a rapport with Harold for her day-to-day interactions. As they approached the Diamond Suite, a man in a black suit respectfully guided them to the door. He produced a bill, handed it directly to Charlie, and said softly, “Sir, please sign here.”

The Diamond Suite had been specifically reserved for Charlie, and his signature was required for confirmation. Charlie smiled, took the pen, and prepared to sign, but before he could do so, Harold’s loud voice cut through the air. “Damn it! Put the pen down!”

With a scowl, Harold stepped forward, snatched the pen and paper from Charlie’s grip, quickly signed his name, and shouted, “You shameless rat! Do you really have no idea who reserved this room? Who do you think you are to sign here!”

The man in black was taken aback by Harold’s rude interruption. He turned to Charlie, casting a questioning glance as if to offer assistance in dealing with Harold right then and there. Charlie, however, shook his head slightly. “Just let him sign if he’s so eager.”

Charlie preferred to avoid any awkwardness in front of Loreen, who was his wife’s best friend. They entered the room, and everyone took their seats. Harold directed Loreen to sit at the head of the table, while Charlie chose a corner spot, receiving only occasional conversation from Loreen. Soon, waiters began presenting exquisite dishes and wine, each course more lavish than the last. The ingredients were top-notch; even the abalone and Australian lobster were mere side dishes. The wine was a century-old vintage worth a staggering one hundred thousand dollars per bottle. Loreen, coming from a wealthy background, was taken aback by the extravagance of the meal.

Gerald let out an envious sigh, asking, “Harold, what’s your budget for this meal?”

With a puffed-up chest, Harold replied, “Three hundred thousand dollars.”

Gerald’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Are you serious? That’s beyond your usual spending range! Even the wine alone exceeds your budget!”

Despite Harold’s casual demeanor, a flutter of nervousness stirred within him. He recalled how the man in black had treated him outside the suite and began to wonder if Don Albert was extending him special treatment, though he barely knew the man!

Loreen’s eyes sparkled with admiration as she looked at Harold and said, “Thank you, Harold!”

Harold’s confusion melted away at Loreen’s warm words, and he grinned widely. “You’re welcome, it’s my pleasure.” He then turned to Charlie with a sly smile, asking, “Charlie, I bet you’ve never had food this good before, right?”

Charlie shot back with a sarcastic smirk, “What gives you the confidence to be so cocky?”

Harold sneered, “You should feel honored to dine with me, yet your filthy mouth won’t shut up! I dare you to say you’ve had better food; if you have, go ahead and kick my head like a ball!”

Charlie simply smiled. His childhood had been filled with extravagance that ordinary people couldn’t even fathom. For the Wade family, these gourmet dishes were just everyday meals for the staff.

Wendy glared at Charlie, indignation radiating from her. “Charlie, what’s with that attitude? Believe it or not, I’ll throw you out of here! We’re treating you to a meal, and this is how you act? You loser!”

Just then, the suite door burst open with a loud bang, and a hoarse, fierce voice boomed across the room. “Where did you idiots come from? Who the hell let you in here?”

At the entrance stood a pudgy man in an Armani suit, adorned with a large gold chain and a prominent scar that ran like a centipede from the corner of his eye to his chin. In one hand, he clutched the bill, and in the other, a baseball bat, his expression fierce as a lion’s. Following him, a dozen burly men with tattoos and scars filed into the room, surrounding the table and leaving everyone stunned.

What was happening? The leader was Bill The Bear, Don Albert’s right-hand man, known for his infamous reputation in Aurous Hill. Don Albert had informed him that the Diamond Suite was reserved for the esteemed Mr. Wade and had ordered him to ensure everything was in order. However, when he checked on the guests, he was furious to see that a nobody named Harold Wilson had signed for the suite. He was enraged at finding someone like Harold occupying the space meant for such an important guest.

Loreen sat in astonishment, her mind racing.
