After leaving Emerald Court, Charlie chose not to rush home. He aimed to surprise his wife with a memorable celebration for their wedding anniversary. Looking back, Charlie and Claire had hastily registered their marriage at the insistence of Lord Wilson, Claire\u2019s grandfather, without ever having a proper wedding ceremony.<\/p>\n

Lord Wilson had planned a grand wedding for them, but shortly after their marriage, he fell seriously ill and was hospitalized. Consequently, the wedding was postponed, and soon after, Lord Wilson passed away. This left Charlie sidelined by the Wilson family, effectively burying any wedding plans. However, things had changed; Charlie was now wealthy, and he was resolute in giving his wife the wedding she deserved!<\/p>\n

The first venue that came to Charlie\u2019s mind for the wedding was the Sky Garden at Shangri-La Hotel. Currently, Shangri-La was the premier hotel in Aurous Hill, renowned for its opulent decor and expansive grounds, complete with an upscale shopping mall. The Sky Garden, located on the top floor of the mall, boasted a stunning design featuring crystal glass and fragrant flowers imported from around the world, resembling a magnificent garden suspended in the sky.<\/p>\n

This venue was the most luxurious banquet hall available in Aurous Hill, and hosting a wedding there would cost several million dollars. For Charlie, who had become wealthy, this amount was manageable. The most important thing to him was making his wife happy, so he stood confidently at the entrance of the Shangri-La Hotel, ready to book the Sky Garden for their anniversary celebration.<\/p>\n

Unbeknownst to Charlie, the hotel operated on an exclusive members-only basis. Access to dining, accommodation, or event hosting required a membership card. There were various membership tiers, each offering different privileges. Regular members could only dine in the lobby and stay in standard rooms. Silver members enjoyed dining in private rooms and luxury accommodations. Gold members had access to the deluxe dining room and suites, while Platinum members could dine in the Sky Garden and stay in executive suites.<\/p>\n

The highest tier was the diamond membership, granting access to the Presidential Suite and the ability to reserve the entire Sky Garden for events. However, membership at the Gold level and above was invitation-only, reserved for individuals of significant social standing.<\/p>\n

As Charlie attempted to enter the hotel, he was stopped by several men in black suits. \u201cExcuse me, sir, please show us your membership card,\u201d one of them said.<\/p>\n

Feeling somewhat out of place in his modest attire, especially compared to the elegantly dressed guests around him, Charlie quickly replied, \u201cI\u2019d like to speak to the hotel manager about booking a venue.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m sorry, but you can\u2019t enter without a membership card,\u201d the man responded flatly.<\/p>\n

\u201cCan I apply for membership right now?\u201d Charlie asked hopefully.<\/p>\n

Shaking his head, the man replied, \u201cUnfortunately, you need a referral to apply for membership.\u201d<\/p>\n

Frustrated, Charlie wondered why Shangri-La had to be so complicated.<\/p>\n

In the midst of his distress, he suddenly remembered that during his senior year at Aurous University, Lord Wilson had enrolled him, and he had a classmate named Sabrina Lee who worked at the hotel. Rushing to find his phone, he quickly called her.<\/p>\n

After explaining his situation, Sabrina assured him, \u201cDon\u2019t worry, class rep! I\u2019ll be there right away!\u201d Grateful, Charlie thanked her, feeling relieved that their friendship had endured despite the years.<\/p>\n

A few minutes later, a high-pitched voice echoed at the hotel entrance. \u201cHey, class rep!\u201d<\/p>\n

Looking up, Charlie saw a woman in a professional outfit with striking makeup approaching. It took him a moment to recognize her\u2014Sabrina had changed so much since their college days!<\/p>\n

As she reached him, the two guards immediately bowed and greeted her respectfully, \u201cMiss Lee.\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie was astonished. \u201cWow, Sabrina! It\u2019s been a while, and you\u2019re now a manager here at Shangri-La? That\u2019s incredible!\u201d<\/p>\n

Sabrina smiled modestly, \u201cOh, class rep, you\u2019re too kind. I\u2019m just a small-time leader in the HR department, which is considered low to middle management at Shangri-La.\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie earnestly praised her, \u201cThat\u2019s still impressive! I\u2019ve heard that the standards for management here are very high. You\u2019re doing amazing!\u201d<\/p>\n

Sabrina chuckled and then turned to the guards, her tone icy. \u201cDid you block my college class rep from entering?\u201d<\/p>\n

The guards exchanged nervous looks. One of them quickly replied, \u201cI\u2019m sorry, Miss Lee. We didn\u2019t know he was your classmate. We were just following protocol\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Sabrina scoffed, \u201cProtocol is one thing, but understanding people is another. Don\u2019t you see that?\u201d<\/p>\n

Thinking she might reprimand them, Charlie quickly interjected, \u201cSabrina, don\u2019t blame them; they\u2019re just doing their jobs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sabrina shifted her gaze to him, bursting into laughter. \u201cOh, class rep, you really think you\u2019re someone special, don\u2019t you? Did you expect me to punish my staff just for you?\u201d<\/p>\n

Confused, Charlie frowned. \u201cWhat do you mean by that?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat do I mean?\u201d Sabrina replied with a smirk. \u201cIs it not clear? A pathetic loser like you, thinking you can waltz into Shangri-La? Don\u2019t even dream about it!\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie clenched his fists, bewildered. \u201cWhat exactly are you trying to say?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just having a little fun!\u201d Sabrina grinned, her expression playful. \u201cI always thought it was ridiculous that a nerd like you could be class rep when you couldn\u2019t even afford a proper meal in the cafeteria! Did you ever look in the mirror?\u201d<\/p>\n

With a cold stare, Charlie responded, \u201cSabrina Lee, I don\u2019t recall ever offending you. Why do you persist in ridiculing me?\u201d<\/p>\n
