\u201cI need to use the bathroom,\u201d I say to Giselle. I know I have a weak bladder \u2013 it\u2019s something I cannot control. This is why I love drinking when at home, so I make my bathroom trips in peace. I have been to the bathroom three times since I got here, and this will be my fourth time.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cJade, you were just there minutes ago,\u201d says Giselle. It must be nice being here. She hasn\u2019t even gone once.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cI know, but I need to go again.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cWhat are you going to do if you get pregnant when you are already peeing like a pregnant lady?\u201d She shakes her head, puts her glass down and then stands, ready to accompany me to the bathroom.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cElis, we are going to the bathroom, and no, you don\u2019t need to come with us,\u201d I say to Elis. I hope he listens this time. The last time Giselle and I went there, he followed. \u201cDon\u2019t follow us, please, we are just going to the bathroom.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cOkay, Miss Marshal, but if you are gone too long, I will follow,\u201d Elis says.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cI will make sure to bring her soon, Elis,\u201d says Giselle as we walk away, heading to the bathroom. The last time I was at this club, it was during the week and it wasn\u2019t packed like this. Giselle and I use the bathroom and then wash our hands.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cHave you and Dante decided when you want to get married?\u201d Giselle asks, catching the attention of the lady near her.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
The lady looks at me and says, \u201cYou are Jade Marshal? I thought I recognised you. Can we take a photo?\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cI am sure I look a mess, I have been drinking since six pm,\u201d I say, hoping that she could say next time, but she wants a photo. She introduces herself as Mandy and asks Giselle to take a picture of us. I\u2019ve had a little too much to drink, so I am posing with all the confidence in the world.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThanks so much, am I allowed to post these?\u201d Mandy asks.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Giselle answers, \u201cAre you two done so we can go?\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Mandy says, \u201cHow is it like being Dante Lyon\u2019s woman?\u201d How is the s*x?\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cDon\u2019t answer that,\u201d Giselle takes my hand, and we head out.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
What is wrong with people? How can one ask a stranger that? On a normal day, I would be offended, but right now Giselle and I are just laughing at it. Maybe we should tell Elis to take us back home. We have had a lot to drink.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cLet\u2019s go dance,\u201d I say to Giselle, leading her to where there is a crowd of people dancing, but she pulls me back.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cDante put us in the VIP session for a reason. You said it yourself that you represent him.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cWe meet again,\u201d someone speaks into my ear. It takes me a second to notice that it\u2019s that man from earlier. I forgot his name.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cDidn\u2019t I tell you to leave me alone?\u201d I ask him.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cWho is this?\u201d Giselle asks.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
The man has to shout so that we hear him over this loud music, \u201cMy name is Ric. What is your name?\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cMy name is Giselle.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cWho is this?\u201d The man asks, his eyes are on me the whole time.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Giselle answers, \u201cThis is my little sister, Jade.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cJade wouldn\u2019t even give me a chance to talk to her,\u201d says Ric.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cJade is spoken for; she is not allowed to speak to other men. It was nice to meet you, Ric,\u201d Giselle takes my hand, and we go back to our seats. When it\u2019s just us, Giselle says, \u201cWhat is it with you and knowing the hottest men ever?\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cI don\u2019t even know who that man is. I saw him when I was going to the bathroom – he was hitting on me.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Giselle answers, \u201cHe is hot and all that, but don\u2019t forget you have Mr Lyon.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cHow can I forget that when you remind me every two minutes. That reminds me, let me check on Dante. I will step out with Elis.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cOkay, don\u2019t take too long,\u201d she says, pouring herself more alcohol. At least she has stopped talking about James. I ask Elis to come with me so I can make a phone call. We step outside and call Dante.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Dante: Hey sweetheart.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
I smile at those words.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Me: Hey, I am checking on you.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Dante: I never get checked on. Thank you. Are you ladies still good there?<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Me: We are good, Giselle hasn\u2019t talked about James in thirty minutes \u2013 that\u2019s good.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Dante: I hope men are not bothering you there.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Me: Just this one that won\u2019t take a no, but nothing I cannot handle.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Dante: Who is bothering you?<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Me: It\u2019s nothing serious. Are you going to come join us here?<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Dante: I still have to take care of something here. It would be lovely to find you in my bed tonight.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Me: Then you will find me there. Is it fine if I bring Giselle with me to the house?<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Dante: The house is big enough for a soccer team.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Me: You will find us at your house then.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Dante: Our house, Jade Marshal. Give Elis the phone.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
What does this man want to say to Elis now? I hand the phone to Elis and walk back to where Giselle is.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cWhat did your man say?\u201d Giselle asks when I sit next to her.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cHe said he would love to find me in his bed.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cIt\u2019s fine, go ahead and rub it in my face that your man wants to eat you up while I found mine inside another,\u201d she says, shaking her head.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cHow is that my fault? I am not going to deny my man happiness because yours was unfaithful.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cIt\u2019s fine, I will also get a man who is faithful,\u201d she says, pretending to be sad. Then she adds, \u201cIs he good though? It\u2019s rare for them to be rich and good in bed.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cSo far, I have no complaints when it comes to Dante. The only problem is his not being emotionally available. But he promised to try and be the man I want.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Giselle smiles for the first time tonight. \u201cThat\u2019s cute. The fact that he tries is enough\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cHello, ladies!\u201d That Ric man joins us. Don\u2019t men understand the word no? How did he get past Elis? The last time he tried to get here, Elis stopped him.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cWe said we are not interested,\u201d Giselle says to Ric.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
He ignores Giselle and says to me, \u201cCan I have your phone number cutie?\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cI said leave me alone,\u201d I reply to him.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cI would leave you alone if you gave me your number,\u201d he answers with a smirk.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cAlaric, come with us,\u201d says a man I didn\u2019t even see walk towards us. It\u2019s actually three men – they look like the club security.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cWhat is this?\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cYou are bothering the ladies, we don\u2019t appreciate that,\u201d the man says to Ric.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Ric sucks his teeth, \u201cDoes it look like I am bothering them? They are fine.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cCome with us\u2026\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Alaric rudely interjects, \u201cOr what? Have you forgotten who I am?\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
The man roughly picks up Alaric by his collar – they literally drag him away. I look at Elis, who hands me my phone and tells me not to worry about Alaric.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cWhere are they taking him?\u201d I ask Elis.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cDon\u2019t worry about him.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cI think Giselle and I are really to leave.\u201d I don\u2019t like what just happened. What are they going to do to Alaric? I think Giselle should just leave, so no one bothers us and ends up being escorted out by security.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cYou don\u2019t have to leave because of him, Miss Marshal,\u201d Elis answers, but I tell him we are ready to leave. First, Giselle and I use the bathroom, then Elis escorts us out.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Elis drives us to Dante\u2019s house. On our way there, we are singing along to Beyonc\u00e9 and having the time of our lives. Just a week ago, my life was boring; now I am having the best time of my life. Maybe losing my job and meeting Dante was the best thing that ever happened to me.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cHoly\u2026\u201d I cover Giselle\u2019s mouth before she curses. \u201cIs this his house?\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
