Asher tried to shake Jesse off, but Jesse used every ounce of strength he had and refused to let\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cMr. Green, calm down! He\u2019s not worth it! If Mrs. Greene finds out, she\u2019ll be worried!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Asher\u2019s breathing gradually steadied.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He shook Jesse off and walked over to Caleb, who was slumped on the ground like a boneless heap.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Shadow fell across Asher\u2019s face. His eyes gleamed.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jesse bit back a sigh. The problem was, Juliet didn\u2019t want to be his wife anymore.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Zachary stood at the door. He had a thermal container. \u201cI figured you didn\u2019t eat properly tonight, so I made some soup.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Juliet paused mid-motion while reaching for a bowl. She didn\u2019t answer him.\u00a0<\/p>\n
She twisted the lid off the thermos. A gentle, refreshing aroma filled the room.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThe kitchen sink is clogged,\u201d she said. \u201cDon\u2019t use it for now. I\u2019ll have someone take a look at\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll check it for you,\u201d he replied, already rolling up his sleeves.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Juliet followed him in and watched as he opened the cabinet beneath the sink to inspect the\u00a0<\/p>\n

Zachary reached into the cabinet and twisted the pipe joint.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Suddenly, a stream of murky water burst out of the pipe.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Juliet yelped and took a step back.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Zachary reacted instantly. He turned sideways to shield her. The water sprayed all over him.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He braced against the water and quickly tightened the valve. His clothes were soaked through.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Juliet fumbled for tissues to help wipe him down, but she didn\u2019t know where to start.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s fine.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Zachary took the tissues and casually wiped his face. \u201cDo you have any tools? I\u2019ll fix the pipes.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Juliet fetched a toolbox from the storage room.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Zachary took off his drenched suit jacket. With only his wet dress shirt on, he crouched down\u00a0<\/p>\n
