Vivian looked at Logan with icy detachment, disgust plain on her face.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not interested,\u201d she spat.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The coldness in her eyes sent a shiver down his spine. He grabbed her shoulders, pinning her\u00a0<\/p>\n
beneath him.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cDon\u2019t be difficult right now, okay? I know your body. You clearly-\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Before he could finish, Vivian slapped him hard across the face, cutting him off mid\u2013sentence. The sharp crack echoed through the empty room.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Logan worked his tongue against the inside of his cheek where Vivian had struck him, his eyes hardening. He lunged forward suddenly, crushing his lips against hers in a violent, invasive\u00a0<\/p>\n
kiss.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Seeing that she clenched her teeth shut, he gripped her jaw forcefully and tried to pry her\u00a0<\/p>\n
mouth open.\u00a0<\/p>\n
But Vivian\u2019s temper flared. She bit down hard the moment his lips invaded hers. In an instant, the metallic, iron\u2013heavy taste of blood spread across her mouth.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Logan recoiled in pain, releasing her.\u00a0<\/p>\n
She grabbed the glass of water from the nightstand, gulped a mouthful, swirled it around, and spat forcefully into the trash. Revulsion was written all over her face.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He ground his teeth and moved toward her again.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Anger surged through Vivian. Without a second thought, she swung the glass in her hand, smashing it against his head with fierce, jagged precision.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cYou sure you want to force yourself on me in my grandma\u2019s house?\u201d she snapped.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The blow stunned Logan. His forehead throbbed where the glass had struck, and whatever desire he\u2019d felt vanished completely. He stared at her in disbelief, never expecting she\u2019d actually hit him with something.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Her eyes were full of contempt.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cGo find another woman. Don\u2019t come near me,\u201d she spat.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Logan felt as if a bucket of ice water had been poured over him. He cooled down, but his expression darkened as he strode toward the door. At the threshold, he paused and glanced\u00a0<\/p>\n

Vivian sneered. \u201cA dog that loves filth never changes, while a cat that prowls can\u2019t be caged. You\u2019ve already done the dirty work, so why pretend to be clean now?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Logan\u2019s expression darkened as he studied her, unease rising in his chest. He took a deep breath, forcing down his anger. \u201cVivi, what nonsense are you spouting now?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cGet out!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Vivian didn\u2019t want to hear his lies, so she lay back on the bed.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Seeing her show him such disrespect, he stormed out. After a few steps, he stopped, a sudden panic washing over him. If he left now, he feared he might never get another chance to make things right. At least, he still knew what mattered most.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Vivian closed her eyes again, but she didn\u2019t hear an engine start outside. The living room light stayed on, keeping her restless. After more than ten minutes, she got up with a grim expression and walked out of the bedroom.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Logan sat on the living room couch, smoking. Seeing her, he quickly stubbed out the cigarette, the irritation in his eyes fading. \u201cI\u2019ll go to bed right now.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Every previous argument had ended with Vivian giving him a graceful exit. He assumed this was another one of those moments.\u00a0<\/p>\n
But she didn\u2019t even glance at him. She simply reached up, turned off the light, and went back into the bedroom, shutting the door behind her.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The living room was plunged into darkness.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Logan sat there and let out a helpless laugh, bitter and low. She was still throwing her little tantrums, and he could only resign himself to coaxing her once more.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He felt his way through the dark to her door and put his hand on the doorknob, turning it naturally, only to find it wouldn\u2019t budge at all. Only then did he realize that Vivian had locked the door.\u00a0<\/p>\n
