Maya\u2019s fingers continued moving across the map until they reached a part where there was only darkness. This darkness was located in the kingdom of Laios. That caught Cassian\u2019s attention, and he asked, \u201cWhat does that darkness mean?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cAccording to this book, darkness originated from humans and embodied greed, evil, and hatred in its purest form. Back then, they mentioned that darkness a lot, saying it was the weapon humans used to attack the elves.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWhy did they attack them?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause of the magic the elves possessed. It seems that their magic, compared to what we humans possess, is purer since we are beings born of human evil, but the elves are born of light and therefore their magic is light.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cYou asked me if a half\u2013elf human could inherit the magic of light, and I said maybe. The elves have other types of magic; the magic of light is the purest of all and only the royal family possesses it. They are extremely proud and arrogant; I doubt they would accept mixing their precious blood with that of a human.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s in the book. The elven royalty is worse than the human one, no offense. They are beings of light, but that doesn\u2019t necessarily mean they are benevolent.
