They thought she wasomeone fragile, and harmless. They probably assumed she

atience to plan a revenge so meticulous it would make didn’t have the heart to be cruel, or the mind to be ruthless, or

everyone who had ever bullied her and her brother choke on regret.

If that was what they thought, then they were deadly wrong.

Violet was never weak. She was never someone who needed saving because she couldn’t protect herself. She wasn’t incapable of fighting back, and she certainly wasn’t incapable of evenge. If anything, she was terrifyingly capable of it. Everything that happened today, every word spoken, every reaction provoked, every mask ripped off, was something she had already foreseen. She knew these people. She knew their inscurities, their arrogance, their greed, and their desperation. She understood how they moved, how they spoke,ow they would react when cornered, and she used that knowledge like a blade, guiding them exactly where she wanted hem to go.

Violet wasn’t innocent.

She was intelligent, calculating, and unafraid to be merciless when the situation demanded it. She was a woman who would do whatever it took to get what she wanted, and I was the man who would make sure she got it, no matter the cost.

If she asked for the stars, I would tear the sky apart for her. If she wanted the world to burn, I would strike the match myself without hesitation. Her world might include many people she loved and protected, but she was my entire world.

I held her waist possessively, my arm firm, claiming her openly front of everyone. There was no room for doubt, or space for misinterpretation. She stood perfectly at ease beside me, her presence calm, and composed. Around us, the guests stared as if they were witnessing something unreal. Shock rippled through the room, disbelief giving way to confusion, then to

fear.

Someone finally broke the suffocating silence, their voice loud and disoriented. “This is unbelievable… what is going on? Did she just say she’s the bride? Bride?! Didn’t Matthew say she was as fiancée? What the hell is happening?”

Another voice followed quickly, just as stunned. “I don’t know, at if Matthew was telling the truth, then doesn’t that mean she dated the son and married the father?” she inhaled sharply.esus Christ. This woman has some serious moves.”

“I mean,” someone else muttered, nodding slowly, “I get why they’re interested in her. She’s not just beautiful, look at her. She flipped the whole situation in seconds. That’s not normal.”

More whispers spread through the crowd, overlapping, feeding on one another. Some watched with awe, clearly entertained, eyes shining as if they were witnessing the climax of a perfectly written drama. Others looked pale, tense, their amusement replaced with dread as the implications began to sink in.

The girl who had been shouting about chasing Violet away stared at us like her world had just cracked in half. Her eyes were wide, and bloodshot, darting between Violet and me as if she expected one of us to disappear if she blinked hard enough. Her breathing turned shallow, and uneven, her chest rising and falling too fast to be normal. She shook her head again and

again.

“No impossible,” she whispered, almost hysterical. “Impossible. That’s not possible. It can’t be her. She can’t be the bride. It’s not fucking possible! This has to be a joke.” Her gaze snapped sideways, desperate, clinging to the nearest lifeline. “Right, Kiley? This is a joke, right? If your stupid cousin is marrying Hades Sinclair, we would’ve known. There’s no way this is real”

I followed her line of sight. The girl she was talking to looked she was on the verge of collapsing. Her face was flushed a deep, unhealthy red, her lips trembling, her hands clenched so tightly at her sides that her knuckles had turned white. She looked like she couldn’t breathe.

The two adults beside her were no better. The woman looked hollow, as though her soul had stepped out of her body and left her standing there on instinct alone, while the man stared as with glassy eyes, disbelief frozen across his features.

1/2

12:25 Sat, Jan 24 GDD

Chapter 180

When she didn’t answer, the girl on the floor laughed weakly, the sound cracked,

67%

“Riley? Why aren’t you saying anything?” She shook her head in, then turned desperately toward Matthew. “Matthew, you can say something, right? Tell me your father is joking. Telle he’s playing around. Violet can’t possibly be your father’s wife. She can’t possibly be your new mother.”

I tilted my head slightly and looked at my son.

Matthew’s reaction was, by far, the worst of them all. He didn’t out, or say anything. He didn’t even breathe properly. He just stood there, staring at us as if his mind had completely detached from reality. His eyes were wide, his mouth parted, his face drained of all color. It was the kind of shock that went so dep it paralyzed the body, leaving nothing behind but a hollow shell. He didn’t look angry or sad, he looked broken.

“M-Matthew…” Nora whispered.

He still didn’t respond.

I felt something flicker in my eyes as I took in the scene, then aned down slightly toward Violet, my lips brushing near her car. “Does this make you happy, princess?” I asked quietly, my voice low.

I looked at her face as she turned to me. Her eyes were sparkling bright with a delighted, dangerous light, and the corner of her lips curled upward as she watched them all unravel. She looked like a cat that had finally caught its prey, not rushing to kill it, just watching it struggle, savoring every second, knowing there was no escape. The sight of that expression stirred something dark in my chest, I was both turned on and amused.

“Enjoy?” she murmured softly. “No. How could I enjoy just the starting tip?” Her smile widened slightly as she looked back at them. “This is only the beginning. There’s still so much left to do before I can truly enjoy watching them suffer.”

I smiled, genuinely pleased as she stepped forward.

Her heels echoed sharply against the marble floor, each sound cutting through the heavy silence like a countdown. She stopped in front of the girl on the floor and bent down slowly until they were face to face. Violet lifted her hand and caught the girl’s chin between her fingers, forcing her to look up. Their yes met.

Violet was calm and merciless, while the girl was shaking, and terrified.

“Like I told you, I didn’t come here without being invited.”

Nora’s lips trembled. “W-what?”

Violet smirked. “In fact, I was the one who invited all of you.”

“So,” she continued, her gaze unwavering, “keep your promise.ler grip tightened just enough to make the point clear.

“Go on your knees and apologize,
