Then, he glared at the man in the suit. \u201cAre you the bastard that touched my woman?!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I raised an eyebrow. My woman? Okay, first of all, this wasn\u2019t Hades.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If this man were Hades, half the women in the room would we already fainted. And second, was Matthew deaf or just delusional? Why was he still acting possessive when I had made it very clear it was over?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The suited man shook his head. \u201cYou\u2019re mistaken, sir. I wouldn\u2019t dare. I\u2019m merely the messenger.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA messenger?\u201d I asked, confused now. \u201cFor who?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He turned and extended his arm politely. \u201cThis way, ma\u2019am\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I stared at him, then at Matthew. Everyone was waiting to see what I\u2019d do.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This was the best opportunity I was going to get to leave this ridiculous, suffocating scene.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I stepped forward, letting the man guide me through the crowd. I half\u2013expected Matthew to stop me again, but he just followed me.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When we got outside, I stopped cold. My breath caught in my throat. All around the school gates, lined up in perfect symmetry, were cargo vans. At least twenty of them Identical black vehicles, their sides open.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Inside were roses. Hundreds, no, thousands of them. Red, violet, even a few rare deep blue ones. They were\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>stuffed to the brim.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>My eyes widened, unable to process what I was seeing.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It didn\u2019t even feel real.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cW\u2013what is this?\u201d I whispered, barely hearing my own voice.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The man beside me smiled. Without a word, he reached into his pocket and pulled out something sleek and black. He extended it toward me with both hands like it was something sacred.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is for you, ma\u2019am,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I blinked at him, confused, and slowly took the card from his gloved hands.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>My fingers trembled as I turned it over and opened it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>[I had fun with you, princess.
