Startled, she instinctively stepped back.

Scarlett was in a rush. She shot him a brief glance and moved to step around him.

But Vincent shifted smoothly, blocking her path. His voice was low. “Come home with me. Grandfather is waiting.”

If this were the old Scarlett, she might have conceded, at least a little. But not anymore. Her own needs came first now.

She looked up at him, her eyes cold. “Ravenshade Villa isn’t my home.”

His voice dropped further, a quiet warning. “I don’t want to force you. His grip was firm, pulling her back easily.

As she stumbled backward, the small pharmacy box fell from her hand and clattered to the

pavement.

Vincent’s eyes followed it. Reading the label, his expression shifted instantly to understanding -and then to something icy.

He held the box tightly, his gaze turning hard. “You’re taking this?” he asked, his voice rough.

Scarlett could see the misunderstanding in his eyes. She didn’t feel like explaining. “Yes.”

His eyes narrowed. “For whom?”

She met his stare, her tone deliberately provocative. “What’s it to you?”

1/3

21:01 Wed, Jan 14

Chapter 399 Pharmacy Confrontation

:

A 5

Finished

Vincent didn’t blink. Or is there someone new already?”

Contempt and mockery were plain on his face, his words meant to cut.

Scarlett’s temper flared. “Vincent, that’s enough. Stop imagining things.”

He didn’t back off. Instead, he leaned in closer, pinning her fully against the wall.

Leaning down, he cloaked her in an overwhelming sense of pressure in an instant. Fury radiated off him, and his voice was sharp with irritation. “Answer me–who was this medicine for?”

Scarlett shrank into the corner, unable to look up, too drained to struggle. Instead, a cold smile touched his lips. “Quite the white knight, Mr. Langley. We’re not even divorced yet, and you’re already lining up to be next?”

Damian didn’t deny it. He grinned, unabashed. “Yeah.
