She tried to pull back, but his grip was firm.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As she stepped away, he swept her up into his arms, right in front of everyone.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVincent! Put me down! What do you think you\u2019re doing?\u201d she hissed, struggling.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>His expression was grim as he carried her off the field. Over his shoulder, he called to Lily, \u201cKeep an eye on the girls for a bit.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, Mr. Stewart,\u201d Lily replied, her voice uneasy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Back on the grass, Clara heard the commotion and turned. She started to run after them, but Eric caught her hand. \u201cClara, you won\u2019t catch up.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Nearby, Damian watched the whole scene unfold, his jaw tight. He\u2019d been holding a colored pencil, but as Scarlett was carried away, it snapped between his fingers.
