He probably didn’t even remember what her parents looked like, let alone Nathan or Violet.

And Vanessa-her behavior cut even deeper. Diana had spent the entire afternoon carefully preparing a meal, only for Vanessa to pick at it disdainfully. Yet here she was, dreaming for days about a simple potato casserole made by Maria.

So that was it-Vanessa had faked a stomachache just so she could rush back to see Maria.

And Vincent’s excuse about meeting Daniel? Clearly just a cover.

Perhaps Vanessa had even known in advance that Vincent and Sabrina were going to pick up Maria together.

Without another word, Scarlett turned and walked out of Ravenshade Villa, driving back to the Theron Manor alone.

That night, sleep eluded her once again.

The next morning, Clara knocked softly on her door. “Auntie, you’ve got another package.”

Scarlett rose from bed and called back, “Alright, I’m coming.”

Not wanting to worry her family, she dusted a light layer of powder over her tired face before heading downstairs.

The package had already been brought inside by one of the maids. Clara was crouched beside it, poking the box curiously.

When she saw Scarlett coming down, she looked up and asked, “Auntie, what is it?”

Scarlett wasn’t sure either, so she went over to take a look.

As she opened the packaging, the item inside the bag began to slowly inflate before her eyes, growing larger and larger-until it became a giant stuffed toy, even bigger than a person.

Clara stared at the oversized plush, wrinkling her nose. “Auntie, you already have one like this.

1/3

14:56 Sat, Jan 10

Chapter 166 Unwanted Gifts

Why did you buy another one?”

83

Finished

Realizing it was almost certainly from Damian, Scarlett replied calmly, “I must have placed the order by mistake.”

Clara just said, “Oh,” then added, “I’m off to school now. Bye, Auntie!”

A driver was already waiting by the door.

Left alone with the giant stuffed toy-taller than a full-grown man-Scarlett felt completely at a loss. What was she supposed to do with it?

After a moment’s hesitation, she hurried out of the house and stood at the front gate, scanning the street in both directions, hoping to spot the delivery person.

Whoever had sent it, she wanted it sent right back.

But there was no sign of any courier.

Disappointed, she turned to go back inside-and unexpectedly bumped straight into a solid chest. Before she could even gasp, a low, playful chuckle sounded above her head. “Looking for me?”

That voice-it was unmistakably Damian’s.

Startled, Scarlett jumped back, instinctively putting distance between them. “You… Why do you always appear out of nowhere like this?”

Damian stood his ground, arms crossed, not moving closer. He looked down at her, a bright, roguish smile playing on his lips. “Because I want to be on your mind every single moment.”

He drew out the last few words, sending a shiver down Scarlett’s spine. Her expression cooled. “Damian, stop sending things to my house.”

He was wearing a black trench coat, left open, hands tucked casually in his pockets. His features were sharp and handsome, and he raised an eyebrow slightly, that same rogue’s grin still in place. “Then where should I send them? Straight to your heart?”

Scarlett frowned at his wordplay. “Stop playing games. I don’t need any of the things you’re sending.”

Damian took a light step closer, bending down until his warm breath brushed her face. He tilted his head slightly and offered his right cheek to her. “Then give me a kiss, and I’ll stop sending them.”

Scarlett looked up at his cheek. He gazed down at her, eyes glinting with amusement. “Your brother just came out.”

Scarlett glanced sideways. Sure enough, Nathan had just stepped out of the main entrance.

Remembering Nathan’s repeated warnings, and not wanting him to see her standing so close to Damian, Scarlett instinctively shrank deeper into Damian’s embrace, pressing her face tightly against his chest.

1.1K

B

3/3

14:56 Sat, Jan 10

Awakened Housewife.
