No overt gossiping or commotion disturbed the formal atmosphere.

However, this relative calm was soon broken by a fresh wave of excited murmurs and shouts that rolled in from the entrance.

“It’s Vincent! Vincent is here with his muse!”

That was the clearest part of the excited chatter that Scarlett could discern.

A moment later, Vincent and Sabrina made their appearance at the main doorway.

Vincent was impeccably dressed in a custom-tailored black suit that emphasized his tall, lean frame and sharply defined features. Sabrina stood beside him, a vision in a flowing white evening gown, her silver crystal heels clicking softly on the polished floor. Her long, carefully styled curls cascaded down her back, and she exuded an aura of intelligent grace and gentle charm.

Their mere presence was enough to command the attention of every individual in the room.

Even the seasoned reporters scrambled, redirecting their cameras to capture the powerful couple, the rapid-fire clicking of shutters creating a staccato rhythm.

Under the weight of collective scrutiny, Sabrina gracefully linked her arm through Vincent’s, and together they proceeded to the two remaining prime seats and settled into them.

As they took their places, both Vincent and Sabrina registered the presence of Scarlett and Damian seated nearby.

Yet, no words were exchanged between the two parties. They maintained a facade of complete unfamiliarity, as if they were perfect strangers.

Vincent and Scarlett’s marital status had been deliberately kept private. Beyond their immediate families and closest confidants, virtually no one in their social circles was aware they were legally bound.

To be perfectly honest, theirs was a marriage in name only, lacking the substance of a true partnership.

The hall, which had been relatively subdued, now hummed with a renewed, sotto voce energy following Vincent and Sabrina’s high-profile entrance.

“Vincent treats Sabrina so exceptionally. He escorts her to every significant event. What I wouldn’t give to be in her position!”

“Isn’t that the truth? Sadly, that’s not a destiny granted to just anyone. There seems to be only one woman who holds that title for him.”

1/3

18:11 Thu, Jan 8

Chapter 87 Front Row Seats

Finished

“Just the thought of it fills me with envy. Vincent is, after all, the most affluent and influential man in all of Rivergate.”

“But you have to admit, they look perfectly matched. His black tuxedo, her white gown-they complement each other flawlessly.”

Scarlett and Sabrina were now seated in the two center seats, with Vincent and Damian occupying the flanking positions.

When Sabrina had sat down, Scarlett had instinctively shifted her posture, subtly leaning closer toward Damian. She had no desire for any proximity to Sabrina.

She simply could not muster any fondness for the woman she perceived as the architect of her marriage’s ruin.

With both Vincent and Damian-two of the city’s most prominent figures-now present, the event’s host, specially invited by the auction organizers, took the stage and began detailing the auction procedures and presenting the items for bid.

Damian, noticing Scarlett’s subtle lean in his direction, allowed a self-satisfied smirk to touch his lips. He then bent his head toward her, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. “See anything on the docket that catches your eye?”

Scarlett merely shook her head, her gaze fixed ahead. “No,” she replied.

Her tone was distant, clearly indicating a troubled state of mind.

Damian understood the source of her mood perfectly-the close proximity of Vincent and Sabrina was undoubtedly affecting her. He leaned in even closer, his voice a low, intimate murmur near her ear. “Tell me, sweetheart… do you prefer being on top, or on the bottom?”

Scarlett jolted upright in her seat, her cheeks instantly flooding with a deep, mortified crimson. She swiveled her head to glare at him. “You…!”

Damian straightened up as well, meeting her furious gaze with a cocky, thoroughly amused grin.

He then adopted a serious expression. “You see? Your mind immediately went to the gutter. I was merely inquiring about your seating preference for optimal viewing.”

Scarlett finally released a tense breath she hadn’t realized she was holding. But then, Damian suddenly closed the distance between them again, his lips hovering dangerously close to her cheek. He resumed his previous line of questioning, his tone now dripping with playful, devil-may-care insinuation. “So, now that the misunderstanding is cleared up… my original question stands. Do you prefer being on top, or on the bottom?”

“Damian, you are utterly…” Scarlett sputtered, jabbing an accusatory finger toward him, her anger palpable.

Damian merely laughed, a rich, unapologetic sound. He captured her pointed finger, enfolding her hand and pressing it firmly against his own chest. His eyes locked onto hers with unnerving intensity. “When you’re evaluating a man, Scarlett, don’t rely solely on your eyes. You must use your heart… and your body. You can’t truly discern a man’s quality just by his appearance. The most revealing assessment often happens… in bed. Don’t you agree, darling?”

2/3

18:11 Thu, Jan 8

Chapter 87 Front Row Seats

He leaned in yet again, his body now almost flush against her side, his gaze devouring every minute reaction on her face.

Finished

Scarlett’s face was on fire, the blush having spread to the very tips of her ears and down her neck. She stubbornly refused to look at him, pretending instead to be completely absorbed in the host’s presentation on stage.

In reality, she didn’t hear a single word the host was saying.

Meanwhile, Vincent reclined languidly in his seat, one leg crossed casually over the other, the picture of relaxed composure as he listened to the host.

Occasionally, he would turn his head toward Sabrina, leaning in to share a quiet remark. Their soft, shared conversation and easy intimacy only served to draw more admiring glances from those around them.

However, during one of these exchanges with Sabrina, Vincent’s gaze inadvertently drifted across the aisle, landing on Scarlett and Damian. They were sitting in disturbingly close proximity. Damian was all but draped over her, Scarlett’s face was flushed a telling shade of red, and her hand was trapped against his chest.

To any observer, they appeared to be a deeply involved, intimate couple.

Vincent clearly interpreted the scene this way as well.

For a reason he couldn’t quite articulate, a sharp, unwelcome pang of discomfort, cold and unsettling, lanced through him.

1.0K

3/3

18:11 Thu, Jan 8

Awakened Housewife: Ignore Betrayer’s Begs

Silent Dreams Never Die — Author: John Miller 87 Chapter 87 Front Row Seats Damian guided Scarlett to their […]

[81

post-27451","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-the-impossible-condition-novel
["GET
