
{"id":26473,"date":"2026-01-30T12:45:15","date_gmt":"2026-01-30T12:45:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kezpres.xyz\/novelreading\/the-second-gear-of-love-novel-chapter-316\/"},"modified":"2026-01-30T12:45:15","modified_gmt":"2026-01-30T12:45:15","slug":"the-second-gear-of-love-novel-chapter-316","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kezpres.xyz\/novelreading\/the-second-gear-of-love-novel-chapter-316\/","title":{"rendered":"The Second Gear of Love Novel Chapter 316"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Memories Drifted Into Soft Silence by Kyx Frost 316<\/h1>\n<p>Chapter 316\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Athena\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnyway, Sarah said, turning back to me. \u201cThe point is we should start early, you have two dresses to find and that\u2019s going to take some time\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOkay,\u201d I agreed. \u201cI trust you.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGood,\u201d Sarah said. \u201cBecause I have a whole schedule mapped out for the next four months.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf course you do,\u201d I said with a laugh.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the morning passed quickly with more planning and list making.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Tristan and Orion disappeared at some point to go look at potential ceremony sites, leaving Sarah and me to continue working through details.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Around lunchtime my phone buzzed with a text from Leah asking if we wanted to meet for coffee to discuss more wedding plans, Sarah immediately\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>agreed and we made plans to meet that afternoon.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>*Should we invite Kiara?\u201d I asked.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDefinitely,\u201d Sarah said. \u201cShe\u2019s the maid of honor, she should be involved in all the planning.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I texted Kiara and she responded almost immediately saying she\u2019d be there.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A few hours later, Sarah and I were sitting in a coffee shop waiting for Leah and Kiara to arrive, Leah got there first, sliding into the booth beside me with a huge bag full of bridal magazines.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m so excited,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019ve been waiting for you to get engaged forever.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cForever?\u201d I said. \u201cTristan and I have only been together a few months.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah but I knew it was going to happen,\u201d Leah said. \u201cYou two are so perfect together.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Kiara arrived a few minutes later, looking slightly nervous but excited, she slid into the booth next to Sarah and smiled at all of us.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThank you so much for asking me to be your maid of honor,\u201d she said to me. \u201cI\u2019m really honored.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf course,\u201d I said. \u201cYou\u2019ve been such a good friend, I couldn\u2019t imagine anyone else doing it.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I promise I\u2019ll do a good job,\u201d Kiara said. \u201cI\u2019ll help with whatever you need.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cActually,\u201d Sarah said, pulling out her phone. \u201cI already started a group chat for all of us so we can coordinate, I added you and Leah this morning.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s nice, thank you., Kiara said, checking her phone. \u201cOh wow, you really are organized.*\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Sarah doesn\u2019t do anything halfway,\u201d I said with a grin.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Neither do you apparently, Leah said, gesturing to the magazines she\u2019d brought. \u201cTwo ceremonies? That\u2019s ambitious.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>1\/2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>1:24 pm\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Chapter 316\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want both,\u201d I said simply. \u201cI want the traditional ceremony for our closest friends and I want the white wedding for everyone else.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I love it, Kiara said. \u2018It\u2019s going to be beautiful.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>We spent the next two hours going through magazines and discussing ideas, Kiara had surprisingly good taste and made several suggestions that I immediately loved, Leah was full of creative ideas, and Sarah kept us all organized and on track.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo,\u201d Leah said at one point, looking at Kiara with barely concealed curiosity. \u201cYou\u2019re going to be working pretty closely with Derek on all this planning.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Kiara\u2019s expression tightened slightly. I suppose so.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s going to be interesting, Leah said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy would it be interesting?\u201d Kiara asked, her tone carefully neutral.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOh come on,\u201d Leah said. \u201cEveryone knows there\u2019s something between you two.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s nothing between us,\u201d Kiara said firmly. \u201cWe just don\u2019t get along.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRight, Leah said, clearly not believing her. \u201cWell, you\u2019re going to have to get along for the next four months.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m perfectly capable of being professional,\u201d Kiara said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo one said you weren\u2019t,\u201d Sarah interjected, clearly trying to defuse the situation. \u201cLeah\u2019s just teasing.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know,\u201d Kiara said, but I could see the tension in her shoulders.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I made a mental note to keep an eye on how things developed between Kiara and Derek.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I still thought there was something there worth exploring, but maybe I needed to be more subtle about pushing them together.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>By the time we left the coffee shop my head was spinning with ideas and plans, but I felt good about the progress we were making, it was really happening, in four months I was going to marry Tristan.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When I got back to Orion\u2019s house, Tristan was already there, sprawled on the couch looking relaxed and
