Without another word, he walked past me toward the house, but as he did, I heard him mutter under his\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>breath.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re insane.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It was meant to be quiet, just a whisper to himself, but I heard every word loud and clear.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I am not insane,\u201d I said through gritted teeth, my hands clenching into fists at my sides.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Tristan\u2019s steps stopped abruptly. He might remember all the thousand reasons why he shouldn\u2019t be touching\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I wouldn\u2019t give him that chance.
