\u201cGive it to me. I\u2019ll raise it at my place. If you miss it, you can come to my house and visit it, Sally,\u201d Lucian said as he gently stroked the puppy in Sarah\u2019s arms.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cReally?\u201d Sarah asked, her eyes lighting up.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cOf course,\u201d Lucian replied with a smile. \u201cMy place is big enough. There\u2019s no way it can\u2019t accommodate such a little fellow.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
He carefully took the puppy from Sarah\u2019s arms. It was so tiny that it fit neatly in the palm of his hand.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI wish my dad were like you, Luc,\u201d Sarah said sadly. \u201cHe never lets me keep pets.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Natalie glanced at the time. It was almost 7:00 pm, so she told Sarah that it was time to go home.\u00a0<\/p>\n
When they returned to the villa, Natalie assumed that since Imogen had taken Roger away, Rowan and Roger wouldn\u2019t be home that night.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Instead, not only were they home, but a lavish dinner had already been prepared in the dining room.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cYou\u2019re back. Go wash your hands and come eat,\u201d Rowan said, putting down the magazine in his hand as he stood up and led Roger toward the dining room.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Sarah looked up at Natalie. Natalie smiled indulgently and gently ruffled her hair before the two of them went to wash their\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sarah\u2019s eyes were filled with surprise, as if she could hardly believe her father had prepared dinner for them.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In the seven years of their marriage, Natalie had always been the one cooking. She had never eaten a ready-made meal at home. Even with Pamela at home, Natalie still had to do all the cooking herself.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWhere did you two go? You made Daddy and me wait so long. I\u2019m starving!\u201d Roger complained angrily from his seat at the dining table.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Sarah couldn\u2019t help but snap back. \u201cMommy and I wait for you every night without saying a single word. You waited for us just once, and you\u2019re already impatient?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cToday the company didn\u2019t have any meetings, so I got off work early. I even had a chef from a luxury hotel come over to cook at home,\u201d Rowan said, placing some celery onto Natalie\u2019s plate with his fork.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThen don\u2019t eat this,\u201d Rowan said stiffly as he moved the entire celery dish away. \u201cTry the beef stew instead.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cMommy likes spicy food,\u201d Sarah said, picking up a piece of spicy chicken tender with her fork and offering it to Natalie.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Natalie took a bite and smiled at Sarah. \u201cWow, this is really good.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
