She stayed focused.

Will stayed beside James and kept quiet.

Someone came over to socialize, so Ayla leaned in closer to Draven. She spoke near his ear and gave him the guest’s identity. Blake had given her the files, and she remembered every single detail.

That one move made Troy stop walking. His face turned cold.

Jed looked stunned.

Ayla was not Will’s secretary. She was Draven’s secretary. This felt like a slap across Troy’s face.

Jed wondered if Ayla had gone completely insane.

His expression darkened. He glanced at Troy.

Troy pulled his gaze away and walked deeper into the hall.

It was lucky he did not care enough about Ayla to react.

Jed shot Ay suddenly

Furious glare. She failed to hold Troy’s heart when she had three years to try, and he crstood why. She was hopeless.

Skyla stared at Ayla standing only inches away from Draven.

That distance was way too close.

Did Ayla think she could seduce Draven just because she worked for him now?

Or was she trying to make Troy jealous?

Skyla felt disgusted. Ayla looked cheap.

Rolf had no emotional reaction. He just watched her like she was a joke.

Then he noticed his father walk over to greet Draven. His father even shook Ayla’s hand.

Ayla shook back with a calm expression, as if she belonged there.

How shameless can she be?

Rolf felt his stomach twist like he swallowed something disgusting.

He stepped away with Troy so his mood would not get worse.

Max kept watching. He only relaxed once he was sure Ayla was just Draven’s secretary.

He turned away. That was when James saw him.

1/3

Max’s expression stayed blank. He turned and left.

James scoffed. “Seriously? He still holds a grudge over something from when we were kids?”

Herman looked up fast. “You talking about someone in this room?”

James said, “My little cousin. 1 teased him until he cried. Total coward.”

Herman stared at him. “Did it ever cross your mind that maybe you were the problem?”

James laughed and did not argue. He stepped away and walked toward Ayla instead. “You look pretty tonight,” James said.

Ayla saw he was only being polite. She nodded. “Thank you.”

“Your husband is ugly,” James said. “You should divorce him. He does not deserve you.”

He had seen the cold look Troy sent her. If it were not for the setting, James would have told Troy off in front of everyone.

Troy had no courage.

He was petty. He held grudges.

Ayla and James were not close the way she was with Will. His comment crossed a line.

“Mr. Reagen, that is my personal matter.”

James shrugged. “Fine.”

Ayla thought that was the end of it.

He took a few steps forward, then came back and leaned close to her ear. “If he bullies you again, call me. I do not care if I have to fly out of Zheron in the middle of the night. I will show up. If you need me to hit your husband, I will do it.”

James matched every memory Ayla had of Zheron men. Loud. Loyal. Always ready to fight for someone.

“You are too kind to me.”

James grinned. “I do not do this for most people. I only do it because I like you.”

Ayla let her guard down for the first time. “Thank you.”

James lit up like he won something. It was not easy to break through her cold shell.

He was about to keep talking when Draven suddenly called Ayla’s name.

Ayla walked over. She checked the guest who approached Draven and reported the person’s background like she was reading from a file.

2/3

James stared at Draven’s head.

Draven did that on purpose.

He did not want James talking to Ayla.

Skyla watched the whole thing.

Her brows tightened.

Ayla could blend in with the Zheron heirs?

That made no sense. Her social skills were terrible. Skyla assumed Ayla was only getting by because people still thought she was Troy’s wife.

The thought made her scorn Ayla even more.

Skyla turned away with a cold expression.

Bria was the most upset person in the room.

She showed up ready to laugh at Ayla.

When Ayla saw Bria’s brother and Skyla, she barely reacted before looking away.

At first Bria thought Ayla was shaken. Then Draven arrived.

Ayla calmly stepped behind him. She talked to him like nothing was wrong. She did not look afraid at all.

The shock hit Bria hard. As hard as Alya divorcing Troy

Draven terrified people without trying. Ayla talking to him without flinching felt unreal.

Bria’s face went pale.

Renee kept admiring the Storm Group CEO. She turned and saw Bria’s expression.

“What happened to you?”

Bria grabbed her wrist tight.

She was shaking. She was terrified.

Renee asked, “Who scared you?”

Bria whispered, “D… Draven.”

Unwritten Feelings Drift by Austen 66 Chapter 66 Working Woman Ayla moved behind Draven and started working.
