Troy won’t mind.”

Rolf roughly explained what happened, but he left out the parts where Ayla snapped at him.

He glanced at Skyla, and when he mentioned Ayla, his tone turned cold and mocking. “People try hardest to prove what they lack. She’s probably trying to imitate you.”

He snorted. “With something that complicated, can she even understand it?”

Skyla had already ordered and put down the menu. She drank a sip of tea without concern. “She seems to be from Agron University too. She majored in computer science.”

That was what her stepmother told her, though Ayla had been average in college. She was never an honors graduate like Skyla.

Rolf was stunned. “She went to Agron University”

That meant at least a score of 1500 or higher. Was Ayla that smart?

Computer science was even harder to get into. He had learned that during recruitment.

Rolf frowned and asked Troy, “Did you know?”

1/4

Troy had never asked Ayla. He only heard Martin mention it once or twice. “Probably.”

Even if he wasn’t sure, it was most likely true. Rolf’s eyes turned cold. “She abandoned her major for years and suddenly picked it up again. The intention is obvious.”

Skyla’s expression grew unpleasant too.

Her stepmother had tested Ayla and confirmed she truly wanted to divorce Troy.

But what she said and what she did were two different things.

People who were inconsistent made others dislike them.

Troy noticed Skyla was no longer in a good mood. “What’s wrong?”

Skyla shook her head. “Work stuff.”

Rolf knew Skyla’s project was difficult. That only made him more convinced Ayla was nowhere near Skyla’s level. Her “performance” was even more annoying, like a bad imitation. “Reading a few books at the last minute won’t help. Once there’s an actual problem, her lack of experience and skill will be exposed in seconds.”

Troy frowned. “Don’t mention her.”

Rolf looked at Skyla, then at Troy, and finally understood everything.

“Fine. I don’t want to lose my appetite either.”

Halfway through the meal, Troy received a message from Bria.

“Troy, I suddenly remembered something. Did Ayla block you?”

Troy had contacted her when he went back to the estate, so he replied, “No.

“Why are you asking?”

Bria said, “She blocked me!”

Twice, too!

Bria changed to a new phone. She was in a bad mood today and wanted to pick a fight with Ayla.

It was not that she was constantly snapping. The anger Ayla had stirred up in her simply had not died down. Whenever the memory surfaced her skin prickled and she felt the urge to pick a fight all over again.

2/4

However, she got blocked again.

Bria was furious.

“So it is selective blocking! Troy, she really treats you differently!”

Then, she started complaining, “When are you going to teach Ayla a serious lesson? I cannot stand her anymore. The more I hold it in, the more I want to explode!”

Ever since Skyla returned, Ayla had not been home for almost two weeks.

Besides not being used to breakfast, Troy’s life had not changed at all.

The irritation of living under one roof with her disappeared completely.

So, unless necessary, Troy didn’t want to see Ayla.

“No time.”

Bria replied, “Right, you have no time, because all your free time is spent glued to Skyla!”

Bria was now annoyed with Skyla too.

“Troy, you’re 28. You’re almost 30, so you should be more mature. Can you stop acting like a teenager who just discovered romance? Do you have to stick together every single day?

“Let me remind you. Based on my experience choosing handsome male models, no matter how good someone looks, you get tired after looking too many times. If you want to keep things fresh, once a week is enough.”

Troy’s face cooled. “I spoil you too much, huh? Even you dare to lecture me.”

Bria knew her brother extremely well.

That meant he was angry.

Damn, she had not even said anything lethal like “Skyla is not as pretty as Ayla” yet.

He was already angry?

She was the one who was annoyed!

“Oh wow, my dear brother, you’re protecting your woman now?
