Two seconds later, her face flushed red as she pulled out her phone and added the stunning woman’s number to her phone.

A new beginning meant meeting new people.

The assistant was sincere, kind, and positive-qualities Ayla liked.

After buying the gown, Ayla picked up two business suits for work and a trench coat.

All were sleek and simple, completely different from her past gentle, low-key style.

She also chose some silver jewelry, ending up with several large and small shopping bags before heading home.

Driving past M.L, Ayla saw the foreign brand of glassware that Draven had bought.

The crystal-clear glasses were as exquisite as works of art. They were beautiful, and she suddenly hit the brakes.

No reason, she just wanted one.

Inside the store, her eyes immediately landed on a tree-shaped cup.

She liked forests.

As she prepared to pay, she heard a teasing Zheron accent. “Hey, I am asking which one you like. Why do you keep looking at her? Is she your friend? Your crush?”

Ayla turned toward the voice.

Draven sat on the couch, and his friend held two cups, probably for Draven to choose.

The friend’s gaze flicked back and forth between her and Draven several times.

Finally, he said in a confident Zheron accent, “You really know each other!”

Then, he whispered to Draven, “You have looked a third time.”

The first glance had been accidental.

Event

1/3

The second was because of the tree-shaped cup in her hand.

Where did the third come from?

Draven coldly glanced at him. “James, go get your eyes checked if they are broken.”

James was not offended. Instead, he smiled. “Such a sharp tongue. I like it. But do not scare your crush.”

Draven said nothing.

Ayla could only hear bits of the conversation. From it, she deduced that Draven collected glasses and favored this brand.

Her second thought was how inconvenient it was to run into someone while shopping alone.

She disliked it, anyway.

Draven wore black sportswear, topped with a black long trench coat. It was the same brand as the one he had thrown away before, but a different length.

His deep, structured features remained perfect, as chilling as ever.

Since she had run into him, she could not ignore him.

Ayla called out across the distance, “Mr. Storm.”

Draven turned with a cold expression.

Ayla felt the chill in his gaze, nodded once, and returned her attention to paying for her items.

Draven’s shoulder was lightly tapped by James. “Fourth time.”

Before Draven could make a sharp remark, James set down the two glasses and approached Ayla, interrupting her checkout. He introduced himself in a friendly, forward manner. “Hello, I’m James Reagen.”

He had beautiful, narrow eyes. Even without smiling, the corners of his mouth curved slightly.

Ayla was reminded of Max.

They were the same type, though Max was less roguish and more refined, a contrast between northern and southern traits.

“Hello, I’m Ayla Keaton.”

2/3

“I’m Draven’s friend. I heard he returned to the country and flew here from Zheron just to

eet up today.”

He gestured to the white sportswear under his leather jacket. “You saw, I played tennis with Draven this afternoon. By the way, do you play tennis? We could play together sometime.”

Ayla did not respond.

He was so chatty.

Ayla knew how to play tennis, but she said, “I don’t.”

He continued, “Oh, no problem. Draven can teach you. He plays very elegantly. It would be a shame not to see it. Oh, by the way, get me Ms. Keaton’s bill.”

He barely paused and had already produced a black card, handing it to the cashier.

The sudden shift surprised Ayla. The cashier accepted the card and began checkout.

Ayla exclaimed, “No, I’ll pay myself.”

She tried to snatch the card, but James blocked her. “Ms. Keaton, don’t be so polite. It’s just a cup. It doesn’t cost much. But what a coincidence, Draven likes this brand, too. I’m just sending him a pair for his new home. Oh, have you been to his house? I haven’t yet.”

By the time he finished speaking, the cashier had already completed the transaction and handed over the packaged cups.

James lifted his chin slightly toward the shopping bag, relaxed but exuding a quiet dominance. “Take it.”

Ayla did not know what to do, so she looked to Draven for help.

Draven’s eyes lingered briefly on Ayla’s face, then returned to James. His gaze froze over in a layer of ice. “Get over here.”

James had never feared anyone in his life, except Draven.

3/3

Unwritten Feelings Drift by Austen 39 Chapter 39 The Gift Chapter 39 The Gift Ayla wrote down her number and […]

[70

post-24473","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-retired-from-your-heart-novel
["GET
