Isabelle has a fever? I\u2019m coming back right now.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Something inside her felt hollow. Nina shed a single, scalding tear that landed on her arm, burning hot.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The car returned to the apartment. Sean was staring at her, his face dark, his eyes filled with disgust.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>His disgusted look stung Nina instantly. She gripped the bedsheet tightly, \u201cWhat do you mean?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sean looked at her like she was trash, his tone mocking, \u201cYou\u2019ve got some nerve, opening Isabelle\u2019s window to make her sick.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Nina froze for a moment, then retorted, \u201cI didn\u2019t.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>After she said that, Sean\u2019s expression grew even darker.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou also switched Isabelle\u2019s medicine. She had an attack last night and almost died!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Nina didn\u2019t know why Sean would think it was her. He hooked the photo out of the frame with his large hand.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Then Sean looked at Nina, smirked, and tore the photo in half, then into quarters, until it was completely unrecogniz\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>able.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In that moment, Nina heard the sound of her own heart breaking.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Her cry was one of extreme sorrow, filled with grief.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She watched helplessly as Sean tossed the pieces out the window. A gust of wind blew them away, leaving no trace.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Nina stared blankly, her shoulders slumped. It was as if her soul had been ripped from her body, and she collapsed onto the bed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Her fingers curled unconsciously, digging her nails deep into her palms, as if trying to mask the pain in her heart with physical pain.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When she turned around, she saw Isabelle standing in the doorway, a triumphant, taunting smile on her face.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A chill ran through her, and Nina\u2019s fingertips were ice\u2013cold.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>At this point, what wasn\u2019t there to understand?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>So her innocence and kindness were just an act, but Nina didn\u2019t understand what she had done to offend her, to make her want revenge like this.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It turned out she had orchestrated the whole thing herself.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Nina watched coldly as Sean held Isabelle tenderly, while Isabelle, with red\u2013rimmed eyes, said that Nina must have suffered.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt must be a mistake.
