The man hesitated, clearly battling something in his mind, he sniffed the air like he was\u2026 checking my scent. A look of disappointment crossed his face before Nolan tugged me gently behind him, and the Moonstone pack member stepped back.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m sorry,\u201d he said finally. \u201cI was far too forward, and made a mistake in judgement. I didn\u2019t mean to frighten you.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

He gave me one last look, a searching, aching look, and then turned and disappeared down the street.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Only when he was gone did I release the breath I\u2019d been holding.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Rae sat frozen, her eyes wide. \u201cWhat the actual\u2013was that\u2026?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
