Vivian didn’t wait for him to get out and door. She opened it herself and stepped down.

open the

1/3

“Thank you, Mr. Howard. Sorry to trouble you.”

They hadn’t said a word the whole ride, but she wasn’t about to forget her manners.

Kingston stayed silent in the backseat.

Vivian pressed her lips together and said nothing more. She gently closed the car door.

Just as it was about to close, Kingston pushed the door back open.

Vivian froze for a moment. Then, Kingston bent forward and got out of the car.

He walked past her without expression, his dark eyes distant and unapproachable.

Vivian watched him walk into the hotel, surprise flashing in her eyes.

She hurried after him and asked, “Mr. Howard, are you staying here tonight too?”

Kingston didn’t answer. He didn’t even spare her a glance. He just kept walking.

Vivian pursed her lips. She’d just told him to ask Camille himself. She hadn’t even called out his real feelings toward Camille, yet he’d shut her out the whole way.

So, she still didn’t know him well enough. He wasn’t just sharp–tongued. He was also good at

the silent treatment.

Without meaning to, Vivian thought of Camille’s cool, distant nature. If the two of them ever fought, who would win a standoff?

It was probably Camille.

Back then, Vivian had insisted on ending the engagement. With Camille’s relationship with Kingston, all she would’ve needed was to say a few kind words, and Kingston probably wouldn’t have let the Howard family make things difficult for the Hartwell family.

But over the years, Camille had avoided every possible partnership with the Howards. She had

never softened once.

Kingston probably couldn’t do anything about Camille either. Otherwise, he wouldn’t still be single after all these years.

Maybe he’d wanted to get something about Camille from Vivian, but she’d refused. That was

Chapter 90

why he was angry.

It was no wonder he’d been silent the entire ride.

This was probably how heirs dealt with things. They waited for the others to give in first.

2/3

Compared to their years of stubborn tension, Vivian suddenly felt like her failed relationship at least had a clean ending.

That thought gave her an unexpected sense of comfort.

When Kingston stepped into the elevator, he turned around. He looked up just in time to meet the pity in Vivian’s eyes.

He frowned at once.

Vivian quickly looked away and slowed her steps.

She had no interest in facing an ice–cold glare.

Luckily, Kingston didn’t wait for her either. The elevator doors closed quickly.

Vivian quietly let out a sigh of relief before stepping forward to press the button.

The next second, the elevator doors slid open again. Kingston stood inside, straight and still, looking at her.

“Are you avoiding me?”

Vivian blinked at the doorway, thinking for a second.

Kingston stared at her in silence, his face unreadable.

Vivian obviously wasn’t going to admit she’d been avoiding him, so she smiled and said, “No. I just thought you were tired and wanted to get back to your room. I figured you didn’t want to talk, so I didn’t want to bother you.”

Kingston didn’t respond.

Vivian could only force herself to step into the elevator.

She glanced at the floor panel and pressed her lips together.

So, he’d gotten in and hadn’t even chosen a floor. She hadn’t expected that.

She should’ve lingered at the front desk. If someone upstairs had pressed the elevator button, it might have gone up on its own.

Vivian raised her hand but didn’t press her floor’s button. Instead, she looked at the man

Chapter 90

beside her, who seemed determined to keep up the silent treatment, and asked, “Mr. Howard, what floor are you on? I can press it for you.”

Kingston didn’t answer. He just lifted his hand, pressed 32, and lowered his arm again.

He remained silent, but his domineering presence filled the entire space.

I Cancel the Engagement and Level Way Up 90 Chapter 90 The driver pulled up to the Avalon Hotel.
