Joseph 191

191 Possesive much?

Zevran.

I do not know for how long I laid on the floor in the cold snow writhing away in agony, but by the time the pain finally stopped- only a little- it was already deep into the afternoon.

My body was covered in marks and bruises from where I had desperately scratched at myself whilst seeking relief, and even though I knew deep down that she hadn’t slept with him yet. That she hadn’t gone all the way. I still couldn’t help but feel so terrible.

I still couldn’t help but feel like a piece of shit

Because come to think of it, it wasn’t her fault but mine- ours.

She would’ve never hurt us if we didn’t hurt her first. We would’ve never lost her if we

weren’t so stupid and blind.

While these thoughts ladies my mind, in came another, which was:

And was this… was this how she always felt whenever we slept with Chalice? Was this how she always feels whenever we did this with other people?

‘You see how much of a jerk you all have been?’ My wolf growled but because I was too ashamed to respond to him, I closed my eyes and sighed through the pain, my breath coming in short gasps as I struggled to rise to my feet.

And funny enough, instead of feeling mad at her for putting me through this, I pitied her and was mad at myself and at my brothers because this was a lot. Too much of you asked me; yet, she never tried to stop us. Yet, we had put her through it countless

times.

Yet, we had revelled in hurting her without remorse.

A groan sounding from beside me reminded me that Kael was still with me and when I turned to look at him, I wasn’t so surprised to see how battered he looked. How torn.

How desolate.

His eyes left my face to latch on her still closed door, and with a voice so small, I barely heard him, he whispered; “I think we deserved that.”

“I know we did.” I answered coldly, hating the way my heart squeezed tightly in my chest and hating myself more for having no other option but to stand here and watch while she continued to have fun with the despicable Alpha Frostclaw inside.

14:48 DO

1/5

Deciding that I could no longer bear this hur I rose to my feet and turned away, but not before inhaling her lingering scent one last time..

Not before whispering an apology I knew she would never hear.

Kael joined me in the car seconds later, but he didn’t say anything to me. Hell, the ride home was quiet as fuck, and by the time we finally arrived at home, I frowned when f noticed the strange car parked outside the house.

My anger, coupled with the intense pain still urging through my veins and making my limbs tingle, made me see red when I noticed the cocky young bastard barking out orders to some of the maidservants outside, and I growled in indignation before I marched towards them, my voice low and gravelly as I snarled;

“Micah?!”

He froze and then slowly, very slowly turned to face me. Although I could sense his fear, he did well to hide it behind a cocky smile, his eyes glinting with something that I hated as he hissed;

“Oh, Alpha!”

But I didn’t miss the sarcasm that dripped off each word like melted butter. I didn’t miss the way his eyes darted between both of us as if measuring to see who was stronger. Who was bigger…

-who was more ‘fit’ to be an Alpha.

And for the first time in my life, I hated father

I hated father for making him so cocky, I hate him for giving this stupid Buffon the idea that he could compare himself to me and my brothers.

My nostrils flared with unadulterated rage and I made sure to channel all the demeaning look I could muster into my eyes as I snarled;

“Why are you here?”

No pleasantries. No nothing,

He didn’t deserve any of those.

At my words, he stepped back as if he’d been physically struck by my words, but before he could utter another word, another word that would probably rile me up even more, Kael stepped over and dragged his eyes along the length of Micah’s body. His voice cold as he spat;

“You’re not welcome here,”

14:48

215

191 Pousseste much?

Auth

“But I am…” Micah argued, then as if suddenly realizing how outnumbered he was, he bowed his head and continued; “Good afternoon, Alphas.”

Neither of us responded.

“I am not here to cause you any trouble. I just came because you’ve all not signed the transfer papers yet. He stated under his breath, causing my frown to deepen even

more.

Right now, I was in no mood for this, I was in no mood to expose myself to anything capable of annoying the fuck out of me especially since after what went down with

Leilani.

“What transfer papers?” Kael was the one who asked, snapping me out of my reverie and I didn’t miss the way Micah’s face darkened before he quickly schooled it into something better and muttered;

“Your father left one of his companies to my name and you three have to sign its papers to show that you’ve consented to your father’s decision.”

His words were polite but for some reason, they sounded mocking; And the more he spoke, the angrier I became.

I pushed past him into the house, my steps faltering when I walked in and found his father, our uncle, in the living room, waiting for us whilst he sipped his wine quietly.

He didn’t even lift his head to acknowledge our presence when we entered, and that in itself was more disrespectful than the nonsense stunt his son had pulled earlier.

I seethed; “Uncle”

“Alphas.” He responded nonchalantly.

“You never told us you would be coming, and we do not condone impromptu visits.” Kael ordered, and as soon as he spoke, Uncle Damien rose to his feet and turned to us and I watched in irritation as he intentionally let go of the wine glass in his hands, causing it to fall to the floor where it broke into a million tiny pieces.

The sound grated on my nerves. But do you know what grated on my nerves even

more? When he hissed and said;

“I don’t think any of you three have the right to say that to me.”

“You will not talk to us this way and-”

14:49

3/5

<

191 Possesive much?

“I know- we know that you and your brothers have had your Luna locked up for several days now. I know that your marriage is a sham… and for that reason, it is void!” He growled, interrupting me, and successfully making my anger soar into even greater heights.

“What does that mean?”Kael snarled angrily, but instead of backing away, uncle Damien and his son became even more cocky

They pushed forward until they were almost standing chest to chest with Kael and I, and I could only take a step back because having them this close meant having to suffer through more disgust… more irritation

It meant having to relive what I’d gone through minutes ago…

Pushing away these thoughts, I folded my arms across my chest and drew myself to my full height, my voice low as I said; “Common, open your mouth and explain!”

“It means that you lied to the pack and to the council, and for that reason, you stand to forfeit everything you inherited… and that the real owner of every single thing is my son, Micah S-.”

“Get out!” I spat, interrupting him.

“You and your son! And make sure to take the accursed documents to the office. We never do business at home!” Kael added before marching up the stairs and walking

away.

However, I was just about to follow suit when I suddenly heard Micah say something under his breath. It sounded like something along the lines of:

“Maybe you wouldn’t be so obstinate when Leilani gets involved!” 1

But before I could respond, he turned and left with his father whilst they shared inside jokes between themselves.

But it wasn’t the jokes that got to me. It wasn’t his-their- cockiness that got to me either. It was the fact that he wanted to drag an innocent Leilani into all of this.

And goddess, I could kill him for that.

I wanted to kill him.

For a moment, all I saw was red. My anger peaked, rushing through my veins, and I didn’t even know or realize what I was doing until my fist was connecting with his face,

breaking his nose and causing blood to spurt out.

But I didn’t feel remorseful at all.

14:49

4/5

Healing Slowly But Surely By R.
