Why would you even think like that!\u201d She screeched in my face, and for a moment, I went silent.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I didn\u2019t speak. I simply watched her quietly until she began to fidget, and then I drawled;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMaybe because of everything? Don\u2019t worry.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And with that, I turned away and left, my heart pounding against my chest as I began to think of other ways I could get my hands on their DNA. I had almost begun to lose hopes of getting it until I remembered someone important. He cast me a disdainful glance\u2014 not like I was surprised- and seethed;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat do you think she deserves?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She? She?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Does he mean me?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Desperation clawed through me as I forced myself to look at his face, and when I was met with a cold disgust, my blood ran cold. And goddess, I swear I wasn\u2019t faking it this time when tears poured down my face.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>My limbs trembled too\u2014 mostly because I could hear the seriousness in their voices, and because I knew\u2026 deep down, I knew that they meant each word they said. So I did the only thing I could think of.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Emotional blackmail.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I cried; \u201cPlease, I am carrying your child.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Zevran\u2019s eyes roved along my body slowly. Intensely. He murmured; \u201cFor a girl who is capable of all the things we\u2019ve learnt about you today, I think you are not fit to be a mother. It\u2019ll actually be nice if you don\u2019t get to give birth to that child\u2026 saves you the stress, and us, the pain.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>My heart dropped. Like it literally *tudumed into my stomach.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Now, I could no longer stop the tears streaming down my face. I couldn\u2019t control the panic\u2026 the frustration\u2026 the despair and desperation turning my blood into ice.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>My body shook violently and my chest ached like there was no tomorrow. I cried; \u201cPlease, there has been a misunderstanding.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe only misunderstanding I see here is the fact that you lied to us for so long. The fact that you turned an entire pack against an innocent girl\u2026 and do you know what makes that even more twisted?\u201d Kael drawled, and when I wouldn\u2019t respond, Zevran answered in my stead.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe is your twin. You should feel a bond between her. You of all people should\u2019ve been more compassionate towards her\u2026 but you were the absolute worst.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were pigs too. We were her mates, and we let all of those happen.
