I couldn\u2019t sleep a wink last night and the first thing I came up with as soon as I got out of bed was that: I needed to meet Darius.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Plain and simple.\u00a0<\/p>\n
I do not care one bit about what everyone says he is. I do not care that he was a dark knight or a blue slave. All I cared about was why he\u2019d singled me out from my siblings and why for some reason, he shared more features with me than any other member of my \u2018family\u2019 did.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Another thing I had to know was why father-Mr Blackthorne was \u2018owing\u2019 him a debt. And at the same time, hated me more than the thorn on the sole of his feet.\u00a0<\/p>\n
I dragged myself out of my house and got into my car that\u2019s been idle for a couple of days now; And by the time I arrived at the front of the court, I wasn\u2019t so surprised to find Jarek already waiting for me there whilst leaning against his shiny black mustang.\u00a0<\/p>\n
A few metres away from us, my estranged family stood- well, besides Gavin- clustered in a small circle. They would occasionally turn to stare at me then look away, but I didn\u2019t miss the sadistic grin on Chalice\u2019s face or the way she continuously gave\u00a0<\/p>\n

The dumbo probably came today with the video as her only evidence, and I was here to see how far she could go with this.\u00a0<\/p>\n
I was however stunned out of my mind when another car drove into the parking lot, and then Maya and Gavin stepped out. Her eyes met mine briefly and she smiled. But\u00a0<\/p>\n
she didn\u2019t come over. I frowned.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cBaby, you should go in now. Don\u2019t worry, I\u2019ll come in exactly two minutes after you.\u201d Jarek whispered soothingly, his warm fingers caressing my face as he spoke.\u00a0<\/p>\n
I nodded to him and then turned to nod at Maya before walking off, and true to his words, he came in as well exactly two minutes later accompanied by Maya with Gavin walking a few steps behind them.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The court settled into an awkward silence shortly afterwards- one that was suddenly interrupted when the large doors at the back opened and Zevran and Kael walked in.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Their eyes met mine for a very brief moment before they looked away, leaving me to\u00a0<\/p>\n

The judge started off as usual, followed by my lawyer who rose to introduce the \u2018case\u2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n
However, as soon as she did, Father\u2019s lawyer, the stony hard woman rose to her feet, picked up my previous evidences and said in a loud voice;\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cIt has been established that every evidence that was brought to us by Ms Leilani Blackthorne- now Sinclair, is false. She was disciplined, not mistreated. And that is because, growing up, she was a very difficult child.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
My eyes widened as soon as those words settled into my ear and I nearly rose to my feet, if not for my lawyer who immediately held me back.\u00a0<\/p>\n
If I was angry before, then my anger was definitely over the moon when she continued by saying; \u201cShe was a menace as a child and teenager who was accused of a lot of vile behaviors, including harming her grandmother.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cObjection my lord!\u201d My lawyer growled, and goddess, I could swear that I had never seen her this mad before.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The judge glanced at her briefly and nodded. \u201cObjection granted.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cIt has been established that my client never harmed her grandmother, and in fact, the perpetrator of this crime is in the same room as us, coddled up by these same parents who pride themselves as disciplinarians!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cObjection my lord!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cObjection overruled!\u201d The judge snarled, not even sparing a glance at Father\u2019s lawyer as she turned to me and continued; \u201cAre there any proofs to these claims?\u201d She asked, causing a maniacal grin to spread across my face as I slowly passed the flash drive to my lawyer.\u00a0<\/p>\n
While doing this, my eyes and Chalice\u2019s met and I flashed her another smile when her face fell. She seemed to mouth something to me but I paid no attention to it and called out; \u201cYes!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cGood then, let\u2019s see it!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
My lawyer then rose to her feet with the flash drive in hand and we all watched as the infamous video played out right in front of us for the second time this month.\u00a0<\/p>\n
By this time, Chalice\u2019s face was completely white. She was trembling slightly; But that wasn\u2019t all.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Now, the judge was glaring at my family like they had sprouted second heads, her disdain obvious in her gaze.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cDo you not know about this and are clueless or did you just decide to tender false information to the court of law?\u201d She seethed and goddess I hoped that this was the part where they would go speechless.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The part where they would finally admit their fault.\u00a0<\/p>\n
However, to my utmost surprise, their lawyer rose to her feet again, that is after whispering incoherent words to Father and his wife. She announced; \u201cMy clients insist that the video is fake. Moreover, they still stand on the fact that she was disciplined and not mistreated. There are tons of evidence that point to this fact\u2014\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n
11\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThe video above is a footage from your house. Your own house! Are you still insisting that it is fake despite knowing this?!\u201d My lawyer growled, but was silenced by a look from the Judge.\u00a0<\/p>\n
After several minutes amid intense back and forth, the judge suddenly leaned into her chair, cast a wary glance at all of us and drawled; \u201cFirst off, that video has been taken in for scrutiny and it has been established that it is real. Is there anything else\u00a0<\/p>\n
you have against Ms Sinclair because I\u2019d like to see the said evidence that proves that she was a difficult child.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
And at that, my father was called forth, his eyes gleaming with malicious delight as he stated; \u201cWe have a video.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
The room fell into silence.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have a video, and proof that she had deliberately betrayed the pack for selfish reasons. She brought in rogues that threatened our safety, all because she has a personal vendetta against her sister.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThat is a serious crime. Are you sure of what you\u2019re saying?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cYes!\u201d Mother seethed but stopped when father glared hard at her,\u00a0<\/p>\n
He cleared his throat and continued; \u201cYes. She was always known to bully her sister until she took it too far.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
A small smile spread across my face when I heard that, because to me, that was why I had come here in the first place. It was the only thing they felt they had against me.\u00a0<\/p>\n
And I was glad.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Glad that they were stupid enough to take the bait.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Glad that they were about to ruin their precious daughter\u2019s life simply because they wanted to protect her by all means.\u00a0<\/p>\n
My eyes met the projector and held when the well known video soon began to play, and even though I was sure as hell that it wasn\u2019t me in it, my heart still raced at the vulgarity in which it displayed.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Also, there was only one problem now:\u00a0<\/p>\n
The fact that I had no proof that it wasn\u2019t me.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The fact that the girl in the video looked exactly like me, so much that it would be difficult to convince the court otherwise.\u00a0<\/p>\n
When my eyes met Chalice\u2019s again, she grinned at me, causing my rage to boil over until it nearly consumed me whole. However, her smile fell when Gavin suddenly rose to his feet whilst holding a large brown manilla envelope over his head.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He growled; \u201cAnd I have proof to show that the lady in the video isn\u2019t Ms Leilani Sinclair. She was also not responsible for the rogue attack and every other thing she\u2019s been accused of. My evidence is not tampered with and can be taken in for testing.\u201d 2\u00a0<\/p>\n
My blood roared in my ears as I looked up to meet his gaze and goddess, something akin to warmth bloomed in my heart and guts when he smiled softly at me before he continued;\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cShe was indeed mistreated, not disciplined. And I know this because I used to be one of those saddled with the responsibility to beat her up, sometimes on my own accord, and oftentimes because my father made me do it.\u201d 3\u00a0<\/p>\n
The court room descended into awkward silence as soon as he said that,\u00a0<\/p>\n
-And then there was chaos.\u00a0<\/p>\n
