Their faces and their tones had me frowning in confusion. My mind told me that there was something definitely wrong with me, so turned to Jarek and asked;\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat does that mean? Why are we supposed to hide it from people?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause it could mean that you have a special wolf. And those are rare. That will cause a lot of unwarranted attention, including that of the dark knights.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
I gasped.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The dark knights were the supreme rulers of our kind. While Alphas led packs in the open, they led alphas in the shadows. They lived amongst us, watching over us, and according to the stories I\u2019ve heard, there were only seven of them left in the world. I shuddered.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t worry, Luna, we\u2019ll find a solution quickly.\u201d Orion added, snapping me out of my thoughts. But this time, I was too panicked to realize that he\u2019d called me \u2018Luna\u2019 again.\u00a0<\/p>\n
I was too lost in my own thoughts to correct him.\u00a0<\/p>\n
My hands shook as I held onto Jarek\u2019s arm and whispered; \u201clet\u2019s go.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
He let me lead him out of the building, and maybe he could also feel the rage I felt because he would then occasionally squeeze my hand and whisper reassuring words\u00a0<\/p>\n

He froze when he heard me and then turned slowly, his eyes hard, his face devoid of any emotion. He asked; \u201cWho?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cMr and Mrs Blackthorne.\u201d I seethed. \u201cThey\u2019re responsible for this. They know why I am the way I am and I want to beat them up until they cough out the truth.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Jarek\u2019s eyes\u00a0<\/p>\n
softened at my words. He turned now to fully face me, his voice softer. He shook his head and muttered; \u201cBaby, this is not you speaking, it\u2019s your anger. Those are your parents\u2026 also, if you lay a finger on them, then they\u2019ll have something against you at your next hearing in court. Do you understand?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
I shook my head. I understood but now, I wanted to pretend like I didn\u2019t.\u00a0<\/p>\n
I wanted to take matters into my own hands for once.\u00a0<\/p>\n
My hands trembled so much and my tears wouldn\u2019t stop falling. A moment passed before I finally found my voice, and when I did, I pulled out of Jarek\u2019s arms\u2014I didn\u2019t even realize when he hugged me- and hissed;\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThen I wouldn\u2019t lay a finger on them. I\u2019ll make it two.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

I do not know how Jarek managed to stay my hands or calm my rage, but a few minutes after my earlier outburst, I no longer felt like needed to hit my parents anymore.\u00a0<\/p>\n
However, I still wanted to see them. I still wanted to have a conversation with them\u2026 and most of all, I wanted to know why I was different.\u00a0<\/p>\n
I had almost begun to think that they weren\u2019t my biological parents until I remembered that Chalice and I were twins-almost identical twins, save for the colors of our hair and eyes.\u00a0<\/p>\n
So why the fuck was I cursed and she wasn\u2019t?\u00a0<\/p>\n

He growled; \u201cHello?\u201d Then with a harder voice, asked; \u201cWhat the fuck did you say happened?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
My brows furrowed as I turned to him in confusion, whilst lacing my fingers in his as I watched him listen to whoever it was on the other end of the phone.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He took my hands in his, despite his obvious rage and then peppered kisses to the back of my knuckles before he turned away and drawled; \u201cI\u2019ll be there in a few\u00a0<\/p>\n

And with that, he dropped the phone and turned to me with pleading eyes.\u201dI\u2019m sorry, I can\u2019t come in.\u201d He whispered, \u201c\u2026something happened at the company; And before you think that you can convince me to allow you to come with me, just know that my answer is no. So go in now, rest, and I\u2019ll call you later.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
I wanted to protest. Goddess, I wanted to press even harder, hoping that he would take me with him, but when I took in the seriousness on his face and the way his jaw was set into a hard line, I instinctively nodded my head and murmured; \u201cOkay.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cMake sure you call me!\u201d I screamed at him as I stepped out of the car.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But deciding that this was the absolute worst time to panic, I scooted forward slowly, crouched in front of the guy and placed my fingers under his nose to check if he was still breathing.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThank goddess! He is!\u201d I whisper-yelled.\u00a0<\/p>\n
However, I was just about to help him to his feet when I felt something sharp pierce the back of my neck, and in pain, I screamed out, letting go of him abruptly to slap my hand over the spot.\u00a0<\/p>\n
My eyes widened when I pulled out a tranquilizer dart, and somehow, that managed to fuel my rage even more.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWho is there?\u201d I yelled, and at my words, I didn\u2019t get any response\u2026 what I got instead were two more shots of tranquilizer.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Now, panic was beginning to creep in, especially since the effect of the drug was already beginning to seep into my blood.\u00a0<\/p>\n
My vision was quickly getting blurry as I stumbled away from behind my car and began to make my way to the front door.\u00a0<\/p>\n
