It\u2019s been a few days since I last saw Chalice and that was the day she\u2019d been thrown into the holding cells; and now, seeing her walk down the stairs in a beautiful red dress that accentuated her curves and a tiara sitting on top her head that so shiny it rivaled the chandelier above, I couldn\u2019t help but be disgusted.\u00a0<\/p>\n
She looked like a big pile of shit in an expensive dress. 2\u00a0<\/p>\n
And maybe it was just my annoyance speaking but I felt like she was doing too much to look like Leilani, because tell me why she now had purple contact lenses on to cover her blue eyes? 2\u00a0<\/p>\n
Tell me why she was dressed elegantly and not in her usual slutty attires.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Tell me why she was glaring at me coldly just like Leilani does, when we all knew she would lose all sense of reasoning as soon as I or one of my brothers took off their clothes?\u00a0<\/p>\n
As if reading my thoughts, Zevran gave her a once over and spat; \u201cTake off those\u00a0<\/p>\n
contacts.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
She froze. And I could swear that I saw her jaw drop to the floor before she quickly blinked back the tears in her eyes and cried out; \u201cZevran, please!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI told you last night that henceforth you\u2019re to call me Alpha Zevran, and I\u2019ll respect you by referring to you as Luna Chalice, so tell me, how did you quickly forget about that?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Her face reddened so much, she almost resembled the color of the dress hugging her body like a second skin and she lowered her lashes, trembling as she shook her head.\u00a0<\/p>\n
A few seconds later, Kael joined us too but as soon as his eyes landed on Leilani 2.0 aka Chalice in purple contact lenses, he froze and frowned.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He wasn\u2019t even looking at her when he said; \u201cTake that shit off.\u201d (2)\u00a0<\/p>\n
And I watched in fascination as tears streamed down her smooth face before she ran up the stairs like the devil was hot on her tail.\u00a0<\/p>\n
When she reemerged moments later, the contact lens was gone, her eyes were puffy\u00a0<\/p>\n

and it felt as though most of the courage which she exuded only minutes ago was gone\u00a0<\/p>\n
not like I cared.\u00a0<\/p>\n

I spat; \u201clet\u2019s go.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Outside the house, a shiny black limousine waited for us, and as soon as the door was opened, Chalice turned to us as if expecting one of us to help her in.\u00a0<\/p>\n
And goddess, at that point, I couldn\u2019t hold back anymore. I began to laugh.\u00a0<\/p>\n
I laughed when Kael simply walked past her and got in, and my laughter increased when Zevran did the same. Her eyes found mine in a pleading manner and for the love of me, I couldn\u2019t bring myself to pity her.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Goddess, how did I even love her for so long?\u00a0<\/p>\n
She pouted in a way that would\u2019ve looked adorable if I didn\u2019t know her so well, and with a shrug, I murmured; \u201cIf you cannot help yourself in, then don\u2019t come with us.\u201d And with that, I got in too, found a seat by the window and closed my eyes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The ride to the airport was going to be a long one so I rested my head on the headrest and didn\u2019t spare Chalice another glance.\u00a0<\/p>\n
I even forgot about her totally until I heard her whimper several minutes into the\u00a0<\/p>\n
drive.\u00a0<\/p>\n
My eyes shot open to find her seated at a corner with her arms wrapped around her body and her face so downcast, it almost looked like a mask. And I found that annoying because if anyone saw her right now, they would easily believe that she was innocent. That she was a saint\u2026 not the devil in prada that she was.\u00a0<\/p>\n
I snorted.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen we arrive at our father\u2019s private island, you all should do well to pretend like we\u2019re in a very big happy relationship, or family\u2026 or whatever this shit we have going on is. Do you understand me?\u201d Kael said suddenly, and I pried my eyes open again to glare at him before squeezing it shut.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cOkay.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd as for you, Chalice, you\u2019re to remain by our side all through our stay there. On no occasion should you wander. Okay?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
She frowned but said nothing, and that made me open my eyes again.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This time, I found Kael glaring at her, his bottom lip curled into a snarl as he spat; \u201cI don\u2019t know if you think I\u2019m being controlling, and while that\u2019s what you deserve, I cannot bother myself with someone like you.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cKael\u2026\u201d she cried softly but he continued anyway.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThe only reason I want you with us is because I know just how much a lot of people from the pack hate you right now. So if you want to return to NYC with your head still on your neck, you\u2019ll do well to stick to our side.\u201d He said, and as soon as the words left his lips, Chalice gasped. Her face suddenly turned pale and her lips trembled slightly as she nodded.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cOkay.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cGood.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
And with that, the car ride descended into an uncomfortable silence, one that was occasionally disturbed by Chalice\u2019s whimpers until I began to develop this strange urge to smack her head against one of the windows.\u00a0<\/p>\n
1\u00a0<\/p>\n
But I didn\u2019t. I couldn\u2019t. And it took all of me not to do it.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Fucking fake Leilani 2.0 all the way from Temu! 7\u00a0<\/p>\n
When we arrived at the island several hours later, I was already extremely tired, and from the looks on my brothers\u2019 faces, it was obvious that they felt the same way too.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Chalice had long since taken off her tiara and I almost chuckled when I saw the ugly frown stretched across her face. She looked distraught\u2026 tired and frustrated; But this was just the beginning of her suffering.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The journey had been a tedious one and as soon as the choppers that had brought us to the island took off, I turned to my brothers and asked; \u201cAre we to trek to the house?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Kael gave a half smile but said nothing and I instantly knew why because just then, four ATVS began to drive toward us from a distance.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Chalice\u2019s eyes widened in horror when she saw them approaching and with a fearful gaze, she turned to me and asked; \u201cAre those the cars?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
I didn\u2019t respond but Kael did. He didn\u2019t even glance at her as he said; \u201cYes.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Zevran, the coldest one amongst us, walked away to get into one of the ATVs, and even\u00a0<\/p>\n

It felt as though he didn\u2019t care.\u00a0<\/p>\n
I sighed as I watched him settle into his ATV and I have no idea what he said to his driver because the middle aged man didn\u2019t even bother to wait, he simply drove away, leaving Chalice stunned and red faced.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Only the goddess knows why she still acts shocked when we show her how much we didn\u2019t care anymore, especially Zevran.\u00a0<\/p>\n
I got into the next one and didn\u2019t even need to turn around to know that Kael would do the same. And just as we arrived at our father\u2019s luxurious mansion buried deep in the heart of the island, the first thing I noticed was the small crowd in front.\u00a0<\/p>\n
My eyes widened.\u00a0<\/p>\n
By this time, Zevran had reached there and was patiently waiting for us and I joined him next, greeting and smiling thinly to the guests waiting outside.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, a few minutes later, another ATV joined us and to my surprise, Chalice and Kael. He helped her down like a gentleman and wrapped his arm around her waist, smiling as he said; \u201cBe careful, love.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
My eyes nearly bulged out of its sockets, and I would\u2019ve walked over to smack his head, to probably snap him back to reality, until a young man standing behind mother drawled;\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWow, I didn\u2019t know that you were all still a happy couple after the stunt that happened on your wedding day.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
I whipped my head in the direction of the voice and frowned when I was met with a face I haven\u2019t seen in my life before. But judging by the man standing beside him with a proud stance, I immediately deduced who he was.\u00a0<\/p>\n
I smiled and spat; \u201cYou must be Micah?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cAye, I am, cousin. And you must be one of the stupid triplets who married the bitch.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
