Joseph 68

68 Oh, fucking hell!

Jarek.

For over five minutes, I couldn’t move, and I could swear that I couldn’t even breathe either. I was frozen in place, my breaths coming in short rasp pants; and that was the reason I couldn’t bring myself to chase after her, especially after witnessing what I just witnessed.

For a long time, I stared at my torn down door, my heart racing in shock at how effortlessly Leilani had ripped it off.

“But she doesn’t have a wolf…” I whispered to myself, shaking my head because even normal people with wolves could not do that as effortlessly as she did.

I tried to shake away this thought, to stop wondering what she could possibly be and how

10:01 B

1/13

she’d gotten so strong, but I couldn’t. There was this aura that she possessed. This crazed look I’d seen in her eyes… a brokenness that she’d never laid bare to me before like she did tonight; And it

made me restless.

Up ahead, I saw her still walking, her arms wrapped around her small frame as she trudged on under the pouring rain.

Seeing her like that pulled at something in my heart but I couldn’t bring myself to go to her. For the first time, I didn’t want to go to her.

I was scared- which was a cowardly thing to say.

“Fuck!” I growled so loud, pounding my fist against my steering wheel, but I felt no ease when my car trembled violently.

I should go to her.

I should help her…

But I couldn’t.

1

10:01

2/13

Because for some reason, I felt that she ought to be alone. That she ought to not be disturbed by anyone, even me.

Moreover, I didn’t want her believing I would give in to her bizarre request.

Now, come to think of that ‘request, a shudder coursed through my spine upon remembering how hopeless she’d been. How desperate she had looked when she asked me to sleep with her.

But I couldn’t do it… even though; God help me, I wanted her so badly.

My hands tightened on my steering wheel as I made a U-turn and drove away, but halfway through going to my house, I suddenly changed

my

mind and began to drive towards the city’s

general hospital where Keisha, my real mate, was admitted into.

I arrived there looking like a mess and as soon as I stepped into her ward, her mother, Agatha

10:01

3/13

rushed over to me with a look of confusion and barely concealed satisfaction gleaming in her

eyes.

She bowed curtly, her head almost touching the floor, as she muttered; “Alpha, it’s so good to see you. I didn’t know you’d come over today.”

Well, I didn’t know I would either. Duh.

I mumbled a response to her as I marched towards Keisha’s room and when I pushed the door open, I was disappointed to see her still lying helplessly on the bed.

1

Her long golden blonde hair spread behind her like a veil and her skin which once radiated now seemed pale under the fluorescent lights.

She was still connected to several machines and

devices with tubes and wires sticking out of her body in angles.

She was still in a coma.

10:01

4/13

Sighing, I turned to her mother. “Do you think

she’ll ever recover?” I asked, not missing the way Agatha’s eyes lowered.

She bit her trembling bottom lip and sobbed. “I

don’t know. But I hope she does. I’m tired of watching her fade away like this.”

Something heavy settled in my chest at her words. And goddess, I know I shouldn’t feel pity for this girl and her devious mother, but I couldn’t help it. Seeing her like this made me think about all the times she had been good to me in the past

before her attitude took a sudden 360°

1

Shaking my head to push out those thoughts, I asked; “And Gerald? When was the last time

– heard a word from him?”

Agatha sighed. “I haven’t heard from him in

you

months. He has never come visiting and hasn’t

brought their daughter to come see her… I doubt he’ll ever come back.”

10:01

5/13

And while that rubbed off on me the wrong way, I made no attempt to show my emotions. I simply turned away from Keisha and began to slowly head out of the ward.

“Are you not going to stay for a while?” Agatha asked, sounding hopeful.

I shook my head. “No.”

“Are you still mad at her for everything she did in the past?” She asked suddenly, making me halt in my steps. “You shouldn’t be. It’s been a long time. And she is your mate, remember?”

My eyes thinned as I spun around to face her, and when she saw the look on my face, she took a step back, her head dropping. “I’m sorry.”

“No, you’re not.”

“I really am… I’m sorry for making it sound like it’s your fault. I’m sorry for talking to you the way I just did. I didn’t mean it…”

1

10:01

6/13

Oh, yes you did. I thought to myself, but deciding to let it go as she isn’t worth my time— I drawled; “Call me when she wakes up… but if she doesn’t in three months, then we’ll have no

option but to pull the plug and start preparing for her funeral.”

Agatha gasped as tears pooled in her eyes. They

were crocodile tears-not like I cared.

I continued; “She’s lived a good life, Agatha… she has a kid with Gerald, and I may sound selfish right now but I cannot keep putting my life on hold because of her. I cannot mate with someone else while she’s like this… and I need to let go.”

“I thought you’d wait for her…” She sobbed and I – rolled my eyes. As if she ever waited for me…

“No.” I scoffed. “I never promised to wait for your daughter. Before her accident, we were already on the verge of rejecting each other. And I only waited because I wanted her to recover before

10:01

7/13

we continued with it.”

I then pointed to the unmoving girl and sighed; “She ain’t going to recover. So what’s the point?”

Deep down, I needed her to wake up so badly before the three months time frame is over, or probably pass on as it’s been several months of her living in abject misery.”

Everyone had to move on.

I too could not continue living like this.

For as long as she’s in that coma, rejecting her would be difficult. Moving on would be difficult. And mating with someone else would be as possible as taking a trip to the sun.

I left her ward in a daze, my chest aching as I made my way out of the hospital. However, I was just about to leave when I heard a familiar voice talking quietly in an empty ward.

I froze, spun around in the direction of the voice

10:01

8/13

and stopped to lean against the wall when I saw a young doctor and none other than Chalice talking in hushed voices.

She was still dressed in the same outfit from the gala earlier, but her three bodyguards, Leilani’s mates, were nowhere to be found.

“Are you sure?” I heard the doctor ask her, his voice shaky. He even looked like he was skeptical about whatever it was they were talking about.

His eyes darted around them, but just before he could see me, I ducked.

“Yes!” Chalice snapped quickly. “And I want you to

be fast about it.”

– “It’s risky.” His voice came again, sharper this

time, but she shrugged him off, her eyes alight with glee.

“It’ll remain between us!” She snapped, “…and if the money I paid you isn’t enough, then don’t

10:01

9/13

worry, I’ll pay you more.”

“Chalice… Ms Blackthorne, I do not need your money!” He growled, his face downcast.

“Then what do you need? My coochie?!” She asked with a triumphant smile. “If you want it, all you have to do is ask and I’ll be fucking bending over this table in seconds.”

The young man licked his lips, and suddenly, his frown disappeared. He smirked. “Really?”

Chalice didn’t respond. Instead, she rose to her feet, rounded the table slowly, and then bent over just in front of him.

I watched in disgust as she playfully began to lift – the hem of her dress, whilst rolling her waist as

she muttered; “What do you think?”

“I think you cannot do it.” He replied. And she tipped her head back and laughed, whilst lifting her dress up until it was bunched around her

10:01

10/13

waist, and until her bare butt was right in his

face.

The doctor jerkily rose to his feet, his smile wide as he unzipped his pants and let out his hardened

cock.

My eyes widened.

This cannot be…

What the hell?

I cannot possibly be witnessing a real life porn

hub, or can I?

I was however, snapped out of my thoughts when a low moan permeated the air and I turned just

then to see the doctor ramming his cock into her

cunt.

Oh, fucking goddess!
