The buyer clapped his hands together. \u201cPerfect! So we can sign the contract then.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
I quickly pulled out a pen and signed on the dotted line.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He took his copy of the contract and left looking pleased. Before he walked out, he turned back and made an announcement. \u201cThis property is mine now. I\u2019m heading out to get a locksmith to change the locks. I grabbed my bag and followed him out, leaving behind the screaming and cursing. Then I drove back to the state where I worked.\u00a0<\/p>\n
