\nI answered. His voice held a surprising heaviness of grief:
\n\u201cLuna, it\u2019s not what you think. Believe me.\u201d
\n\u201cEmily just wanted to document her life. She didn\u2019t expect some account to repost it.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cLet\u2019s not let the internet affect us, Luna. I don\u2019t want a divorce. Can we talk?\u201d
\n\u201cWhere are you? I miss you. I\u2019ll come find you.\u201d
\nI sighed. \u201cJames, you won\u2019t find me.\u201d
\n\u201cWhat do you mean?\u201d
\n\u201cThe company is expanding to the West Coast. I applied for a transfer.\u201d

\u201cThe divorce papers are on the coffee table. If there\u2019s no issue, sign them. Let\u2019s not make it ugly.\u201d
\n\u201cI won\u2019t sign!\u201d
\nJames suddenly became petulant, repeating:
\n\u201cLuna, you still love me. You\u2019re just upset, right?\u201d
\n\u201cI\u2019ll keep my distance from Emily from now on. I won\u2019t do things you don\u2019t like.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI know I was wrong. Can\u2019t we go back to how we were before?\u201d
\nI shook my head. \u201cNo.\u201d
\n\u201cPlease, Luna\u2026\u201d James\u2019s voice choked up. \u201cFor the baby\u2019s sake\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n
A breeze blew. I felt a chill on my face and realized I was crying.
\nBut my voice remained firm:
