When I got home, Marcus was in the living room frantically making calls-his company was finished, all the major clients were pulling out.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He hung up and looked at me with complete desperation in his eyes.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cBabe, could you get your dad to help? Please, I\u2019m begging you.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cOkay, I\u2019ll try calling him,\u201d I said, pretending to hesitate.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThank you, honey!\u201d He grabbed my hands excitedly. \u201cI knew I could count on you when it really mattered.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Just then, his phone rang.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Caller ID: Sweetie.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Just then, the doorbell rang.\u00a0<\/p>\n
I went to open it. Standing there was a haggard-looking woman-Rain Sullivan.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cVivian Hartwell!\u201d she screamed. \u201cThis is all you! You deliberately gave me fake medical reports! You\u2019re trying to break us up!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Marcus rushed over, staring at Rain in horror. \u201cWhat are you doing here? Get out of here, now!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWhy should I leave?\u201d Rain was crying hysterically. \u201cMarcus, tell her we\u2019re really in love! Tell her I\u2019m carrying your baby!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWell, Marcus? Care to explain?\u201d I asked calmly.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Marcus looked deathly pale, his lips trembling as he struggled to speak.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Seeing his silence, Rain became even more frantic.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cSay something! Didn\u2019t you say you loved me? Didn\u2019t you say you\u2019d marry me? Didn\u2019t you say she was just your personal ATM?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Hearing \u201cpersonal ATM,\u201d my heart went completely cold.\u00a0<\/p>\n
So that\u2019s all I was to them-an ATM machine.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cEnough!\u201d Marcus finally spoke, glaring vicious\/\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cNo!\u201d Rain screamed. \u201cYou can\u2019t treat me like this! I\u2019m having your baby!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
