Gavin returned to the villa later that night, and he looked exhausted. Nan and Erik had already left, Nan returning to Chester and Erik returning to his mother and sister. I ended up telling Gavin everything that I found out, even though he was practically half asleep.\u00a0<\/p>\n
When I told him about needing to bring Chuck to the Silver Crescent Pack to break the curse, he was suddenly very awake.\u00a0<\/p>\n
At first, as Nan and Erik told me, he didn\u2019t want me to go to Alpha Jeremy\u2019s territory and partake in this dangerous plan, but the more he thought about it, the more he realized that we might not have a choice in the matter. The curse on Irene seemed to be getting worse, and neither of us knew why.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Irene returned extremely late, and when she did return, she was completely drunk. I had to help her into bed and change her clothes. A drunk Irene is very unflattering. After that, Gavin finally agreed to my plan and contacted Alpha Jeremy this morning.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI found out where she was last night,\u201d he said, unlocking his phone and then swiping his finger along the screen a few times before he found what he was looking for.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He turned his phone screen to face me, and my heart fell into my stomach at the news article headline.\u00a0<\/p>\n

I took his phone and scrolled through the article, reading all the lies the paparazzi said about her. I paused when I reached the video, and I hesitantly clicked the play button. She looked like she was drinking, not her first drink of the night, and her makeup was smeared all over her face; it was unlike her ever to be seen in public like this.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She concluded her speech with a giant belch, which left my jaw on the ground; I wasn\u2019t even sure Irene was capable of such a sound out of her pretty face. I turned to look at Gavin, and he just nodded as he took his phone back.\u00a0<\/p>\n
I remembered how Erik said that the curse seemed to be getting worse and how Matt noticed that Irene had been unwell.\u00a0<\/p>\n
My stomach knotted; could her communication with Chuck be the reason?\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cIs she really still in communication with Chuck?\u201d I asked, my hands trembling on my lap.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not sure,\u201d he said, shaking his head. \u201cI had Taylor check her phone, but she deletes her messages. However, he can recover them. He\u2019s working on that now. It\u2019ll take some time.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
