\u201cAre you sure you want to do this?\u201d Gavin asked me, his eyes fixed on my face as I stared at the entire part\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cOf course, she\u2019s sure. She needs to show them who\u2019s boss,\u201d Irene said, folding her arms a rows her chest. \u201cjust remember to keep your head held high and don\u2019t let them see your weakness,\u201d he added that last part for me.\u00a0<\/p>\n
I stared up at Gavin.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI can do this,\u201d I told him, proud that my voice didn\u2019t waver, \u201cI need you to trust me.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Gavin put a couple of his fingers beneath my chin and lifted my gae to meet his; I could see the sincerity and love in his eyes, and it made my heart skip a beat.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cYou are my mate\u2026 my family, I will always choose my family overduty,\u201d he told me, his tone leading no room for argument You and my children are my priority. Always. Don\u2019t ever doubt me I love you, and we are in this together\u00a0<\/p>\n
My heart swelled at his sincere words, and I found myself leaning a bit closer to him.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She was right; I needed to be a strong Luna for once\u2026 I needed to prove to them that I can be the Lana they want and deserve.\u00a0<\/p>\n
I turned to face the crowd and made sure my posture was stiff and my head held high, just as frene did when she walked in. 1 needed to act like I owned the world and that I belonged there more than any of them.\u00a0<\/p>\n
I felt a strange surge rushing through me, and I felt my wolf stirring inside of me. I barely even felt myself moving forward, but 1 was getting closer to the front so that I could take the megaphone away from Olivia Everybody watched me, their lips sealed shut and their eyes wide,\u00a0<\/p>\n
The energy that surged through me seemed to be getting more powerful, and a few had sucked in a sharp breath as I passed by I didn\u2019t look at anybody as I walked towards the front; my eyes were fixed on Olivia, who was watching me warity.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cDon\u2019t come any closer,\u201d Olivia said, pointing at me. \u201cI don\u2019t trust you. Nobody here should trust you. You\u2019re a cheater and a\u00a0<\/p>\n
liar!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cYou are speaking, a lot of nonsense,\u201d I told her. \u201cAnd causing a stir out of nothing. There is no evidence that I cheated, and once that is found out, you\u2019ll look foolish.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
She blinked, not expecting my candid words.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cBut there is proof! There are photos and text messages. That\u2019s right. We had someone hack your phones, and we got text message proof that you were in a relationship long before the competition ever started,\u201d she said, folding her arms across her chest and giving me a smirk as if she had won.\u00a0<\/p>\n
I felt a sense of violation from having them hack into my phone, and who the hell was \u201cthem?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s a serious invasion of my privacy and could mean criminal charges,\u201d I told her. \u201cYou are aware of that, aren\u2019t you?*\u00a0<\/p>\n

She stared at me blankly.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cOf course, I\u2019m aware of that,\u201d she scoffed. \u201cBut it doesn\u2019t matter because I\u2019m telling the truth. The receipts don\u2019t lie.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
I walked closer to her and held out my hand for the megaphone.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cMay I?\u201d I asked, trying to keep my tone as calm as I could.\u00a0<\/p>\n
She blinked a few times and then glanced at her audience, who were watching with bated breath. Then she let out an awkward laugh before shoving the megaphone at me.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cFine\u2026 It\u2019s not like it\u2019s going to matter,\u201d she said, shrugging one shoulder as she stepped back. \u201cEverybody is against you now anyway.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
I swallowed the lump in my throat but tried to keep my face neutral as I turned to face everybody. My eyes immediately found Gavin; he was standing with Irene and Matt in the distance, and they were all staring at me with admiration and belief all over their faces. Gavin gave me a quick nod and a wink, making my heart flutter in my chest.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It was enough confidence to get me through this.\u00a0<\/p>\n
With a deep breath, I turned my eyes to everyone else.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI didn\u2019t come here to fight,\u201d I told them with honesty. \u201cAnd I didn\u2019t come here to beg you.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Everybody was silent as they stared at me, and I couldn\u2019t tell if any of them were breathing. The mood was so charged that it was difficult to get my point across. But I pushed through the haze and continued forward, feeling the strange energy surging through my body strengthen even more.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI came here because like it or not\u2026 You are my pack,\u201d I told them, hating that there were real emotions in my voice. \u201cAnd you might be right that I\u2019m not raised for this role. I wasn\u2019t groomed for it. I didn\u2019t grow up thinking I\u2019d stand here one day.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
