I didn\u2019t know much about Noah Blackwell, but like his father, he was a businessman, and I knew he ran a massive chunk of the Blackwell empire on his own. I knew at some point he would be the one to take over the company.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Gavin confessed to me that they had been friends as children but had grown apart as they aged. Then, after Gavin\u2019s father stole the gem and the Blackwells went into deep hiding, Gavin and Noah\u2019s connection was severed completely.\u00a0<\/p>\n
But to think that this man was using Daisy to do his dirty work made me feel sick to my stomach.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter I stole the gem and brought it back to the Blackwell family, Noah ignored me completely. He told me he wasn\u2019t ready for me to move in just yet and asked me to give him a bit of time. That I needed to stay away for right now so nobody sees me\u2026\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cHe shunned you out of his life?\u201d I asked, my mouth hanging open.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cLila found me crying and begging outside his door,\u201d she continued as if I hadn\u2019t said anything. It was clear that Daisy was now lost in the past with the dazed look in her eyes. I couldn\u2019t blame her, honestly; she must be living with so much pain all the time. \u201cSo, she found out pretty quickly that I was mated to Noah\u2026 that\u2019s also when I found out that he was actually living with another woman, and that\u2019s why I\u2019ve been feeling the pain from his intimacy the last few days. He\u2019s been sleeping with her, and then he told me that he planned to mate with her.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m so sorry,\u201d I whispered, wiping away a stray tear that fell onto my cheek.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cBut anyways, Lila caught me crying outside of the manor, and she knew I was a scorned woman and was crying over her brother. She saw my mating mark, and she knew it belonged to Noah because it wasn\u2019t the first time he had done something stupid like this. At the same time, I caught her holding the Moon Gem and a variety of other items that looked very much like she was about to cast a spell or something. To change the subject, she told me about Noah\u2019s girlfriend. I ran off shortly after, and then later on, I went to confront Noah\u2026 I asked him to meet in our spot, and he did. I asked him about his supposed girlfriend, and he admitted it without batting an eye\u2026 like it was no big deal.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
She paused for a moment so she could gather her thoughts.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cHe told me that he was never going to break this bond, no matter what, so I\u2019d better get used to his girlfriend being around. He was still going to use me whenever he feels like it\u2026 just like he does the others he had mated in the past. He\u2019s just adding to the collection with this new one, but I\u2019m still his favorite\u2026\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
She repeated all that he\u2019s said to her, and more angry tears spilled down her cheeks, and she wiped them away just as fast as they came.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI hate that I\u2019m crying right now,\u201d she said, letting out another one of her famous humorless laughs. \u201cI told myself I wasn\u2019t going to break down, and here I am\u2026 crying my eyes out because I\u2019ve been used and abused by my mate. It\u2019s pathetic\u2026\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s not pathetic,\u201d I said quickly, stepping towards the gate that separated us. \u201cYou are allowed to feel whatever it is that you are feeling, Daisy. This monster took something from you that you can never get back. He\u2019s awful, and I\u2019m so sorry that it happened to you.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
