That\u2019s why.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He tossed his coat on the hook and ran his hand through his hair.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBabe, come on. I was slammed at work. I just spaced-it was an accident.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Then he moved closer, arms out like he was going in for a hug.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet me make it right. Flowers? That bag you\u2019ve been wanting? Or that necklace you showed me?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Seven years married, and he\u2019d always been good at throwing money at problems.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He was so sure I\u2019d never actually walk out.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I took a step back and met his eyes, dead calm.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re done. She stood there in the doorway, blocking my way out.
