He hadn’t listened to a single word of her apology.

Sienna had felt aggrieved and had sworn she would never speak to him again. But only a week later, she decided that she had been in the wrong after thinking about the whole incident repeatedly.

After all, she had entered his study without telling him and had broken his box. So, she swallowed her pride first and went to apologize to him. The teenage Clayton had shown her a long face and had barely acknowledged her.

But Sienna had been persistent. She had trailed after him day after day. Over time, the matter was quietly put to rest.

Still, some things left their permanent scars.

In the three years of their marriage, she had never once stepped into Clayton’s study.

“What are you zoning out about?” Clayton’s voice suddenly came from behind her.

He asked in a slightly mocking tone, “Do you want to read? Would you even understand it?”

Sienna snapped back to reality. That long–familiar sense of stifled frustration welled up inside her. She used to worry about upsetting him. Now, she deliberately wanted to piss him off.

She let out a light scoff and responded, “So, only Your Highness can read books, and the rest of us peasants aren’t worthy of doing so, is that it?”

Clayton frowned slightly. “If you want to read, then go ahead. What’s with the sarcasm?”

Sienna was about to retort when her gaze suddenly landed on a book tucked into the corner of the shelf. It was a book titled Emotional Expression in Spatial Design“. The author was Neriah Sanderson.

Her eyes lit up, and she immediately pulled it out. This book had a very limited print run and was almost impossible to find on the market. There was even Neriah’s personal signature on the title page.

“How did you get this book?” she asked, turning to look at Clayton.

He glanced at it and replied, “It was a gift.”

Sienna raised a brow. “You definitely wouldn’t understand it. Just give it to me.”

“Not happening,” Clayton replied instantly.

“You cheapskate!” Sienna scolded.

She cursed Clayton in her heart for being stingy and unwilling to part with even one book. Oh, how she longed to have that

book!

Just then, Rowan knocked and came in. He reminded Clayton that it was time for a meeting.

Clayton stood up and put on his suit jacket. Before leaving, he picked up the takeout box and added, “Stay here. Don’t wander around. Wait for me to come back.”

Sienna nodded absentmindedly. The moment he left, she happily dropped into his chair and spun around in it a few times. She savored the feeling of being the CEO.

Then, she grabbed a blank sheet of paper from the desk. Picking up his fountain pen, she started doodling on it. Given her design background, she sketched an almost photorealistic fist holding some dollar notes tightly with a few strokes.

Beneath it, she wrote one word in flamboyant cursive-“Tightwad“.

She admired her masterpiece with satisfaction. It was one hundred percent accurate and depicted Clayton’s stinginess vividly.

Chapter 46

212

After that, she absentmindedly flipped open the book by Nerlah again. The same thought from earlier still bugged her. Why would Clayton read books about design? And to think he even had one signed by Neriah herself.

Could he have some secret identity? Maybe he was actually an Internationally renowned designer who went by some mysterious alias. Then at some critical moment, he’d reveal himself and prove everyone else wrong, especially her.

He would declare proudly, “See, woman? This is what I’m truly capable of!”

Sienna shook her head to clear away those ridiculous thoughts. She focused her attention on the book and started reading.

Before she knew it, she’d tilted her head forward and fallen asleep with her cheek resting on the book. In her dream, she felt something sticky pressed against the side of her face. It felt like an octopus tentacle that was wet and hot. Annoyed, she swatted at it without thinking.

A loud smack rang out. Her hand made contact with something, jolting her awake.

Chapt

She got the divorce and bolted 46 Even though Sienna had explained it was an accident, Clayton had been in […]

[27

post-20120","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-she-got-the-divorce-and-bolted-novel
["GET
