The manager was awkwardly trying to disperse them.

“Everyone, please return to your seats. This is just a small misunderstanding between the ladies.”

Sienna squeezed into the restroom, and the scene before her made her freeze for a second.

Michelle and Melody were gripping each other’s hair tightly, locked in a standoff like two cats with their fur standing on end.

“Let go!”

“You let go first!”

“If you don’t let go, I won’t!”

“Fine! Then none of us let go!”

Sienna’s first thought was how typical it was for women to end up pulling each other’s hair whenever they fought.

She hurried over to break it up, pretending to be anxious. “Hey, stop it! Don’t fight! Please stop fighting!”

As she spoke, she accidentally stepped on Melody’s foot. Amid the chaos, her hand smacked Melody’s hand several times.

But Michelle and Melody were in a deadlock. Neither showed any sign of stopping.

“I think that’s enough!” Clayton’s cold voice rang out from the doorway.

Both women immediately let go like they had been shocked. Sienna seized the chance to shove Melody aside and rushed to check on Michelle.

Her hair was a total rat’s nest. There were several glaring red marks across her neck, and there were bloody scratches on her

arms.

“How did you end up fighting her? Did she start it?” Sienna asked with concern as she tidied Michelle’s hair.

Before Michelle could answer, Melody covered her face and cried pitifully, “Clay, she hit me first! The moment I came in, she started yelling at me. Then, she pushed me and told me that I should I know my place. She warned me to stay away from Sienna, or she’d make my life hell.”

“That’s a lie! It was you who started it!” Michelle stomped her feet in anger.

Clayton’s swept an icy gaze over Michelle. “She went to the restroom, and you followed right after. Don’t you think that’s a little too coincidental?”

Under his intense stare, Michelle felt her scalp tingle. She was momentarily speechless. “I…”

“Since Sienna refuses to apologize, you should at least apologize, shouldn’t you? There’s a limit to pranking people. You two really are worthy of being best friends,” Clayton pressed.

The pressure made Michelle shrink back.

Sienna immediately stepped in front of her and spoke up indignantly to protect her. “Mr. Hale, even favoritism should have its limits. Mich merely went to the restroom like any normal person would, and you’re sure she’s to be blamed for everything?

“You haven’t even figured out what happened, and you’re already demanding apologies. Apologize this, apologize that… Did you build your company on apologies? Do you feel physically uncomfortable if you don’t hear someone say sorry?

“If you love apologies that much, have someone record one for you so you can listen to it every day at home.”

Chapter 33

2/2

“If your eyesight’s failing, go book an appointment with an ophthalmologist. Just look at the injuries. You can tell who got it worse,” Clayton snapped, pointing at the wounds on Melody’s face.

Placing a hand on Michelle’s stomach, Sienna countered solemnly, “Says who? Mich may be suffering from internal injuries. I’m taking her to do a full-body check right now. And if anything is wrong with her, I won’t let Melody off either!”

With that, she grabbed Michelle and started to walk out.

However, Clayton reached out to block them. “Are you really going this far to take her side?”

Sienna lifted her chin, refusing to back down. “So what if I am? At most, it’s mutual assault. Calling the police won’t do you any good. A word of advice-you’d better not do anything despicable, or I won’t let you off either.”

Clayton looked like he had just heard the funniest joke.

A smile crept onto his lips as he drawled, “Oh? And how exactly do you plan on not letting me off?”

“I’ll deal with it when the time comes!” Sienna slapped his hand away and strode off with Michelle.

The moment they stepped out of the restaurant, Sienna pinched Michelle’s cheek. “Tell me the truth. Did you hit her first?”

“How did you know?” Michelle grinned sheepishly.

Sienna rolled her eyes. “The second you stick your butt out, I already know what kind of fart you’re about to let loose. Every time you feel guilty, you start yelling that the other party is lying.

Michelle hooked her arm through Sienna’s and said through clenched teeth, “That disgusting wench had it coming. I was just warning her to stay away from you, but she called me a fat pig. Then, she said I was ugly as hell back in high school, and it was no wonder nobody wanted to be friends with me. She even said I’m being pathetic by being your lackey now.”

As she continued recounting what just happened, she rolled up her sleeves animatedly. “How could I let that slide, Sienna? I shoved her, of course. Then, she went all out on my neck. So, I scratched her face back. We were evenly matched, but I didn’t let her get the upper hand. I even yanked out more than a dozen strands of her hair.”

Sienna fixed Michelle’s tangled hair and advised helplessly, “Don’t do this again. You messed with Clayton’s precious darling. He won’t let you off. What if he makes things hard for you later?”

“What about that steak just now? Was that really an accident?” Michelle asked.

Sienna smiled slightly and replied, “Yeah. Who asked her to sit right across from me? My hand just slipped. I was cutting into the steak hard, and it flew off.”

Meanwhile, Melody was still standing still with one trembling hand covering her cheek. Her carefully styled hair was disheveled. Sauce stains and water marred her white dress. She was a complete mess.

She got the divorce and bolted 33 Chapter 33 1/2 Chapter 33 When Sienna heard Michelle’s voice, she felt worried […]

[27

post-20107","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-she-got-the-divorce-and-bolted-novel
["GET
