A short while later, Clayton received a call from Miles. \u201cClayton, Melody is getting discharged from the hospital today. Are you going to\u2026\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Clayton interrupted him, \u201cHer legs are fine. She can leave the hospital on her own. I\u2019m not free.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Miles paused briefly before asking spitefully, \u201cHave you met Sienna and settled the score with her yet? That awful wench\u2026\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat?\u201d Clayton\u2019s voice hardened. \u201cAm I required to report everything I do to you now?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
He hung up immediately after saying that.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Miles had a look of bewilderment on his face. He couldn\u2019t help but wonder if Clayton had eaten something wrong this morning to put him in such a bad mood.\u00a0<\/p>\n
At the hospital, Melody still had a bandage over her forehead. She looked at Miles expectantly. \u201cWhat did Clay say? Is he coming to pick me up from the hospital today?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the afternoon, Hayden slowly walked into Clayton\u2019s office. He asked, \u201cHow did it go with Sienna yesterday? Did the two of you fight?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Clayton kept his head low as he went through some documents. He said flatly, \u201cShe left the house.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Hayden raised his brows. \u201cDidn\u2019t you search for her whereabouts?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI did.\u201d Clayton sneered. \u201cShe was holding a kitchen knife when she saw me.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Hayden shook his head and clicked his tongue. He shared some advice based on his previous dating experience.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cYou ought to do something to appease her anger. Get her some flowers or buy her an expensive bag. She\u2019ll soften up and forgive you once you offer her a sincere apology.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Clayton lifted his gaze and stared at Hayden as if he was looking at a fool. \u201cShe\u2019s the one who\u2019s taken off because she feels guilty. Why should I apologize to her? She\u2019ll forgive me? Forgive me for what?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was Melody\u2019s seat.\u201d Clayton put down his pen and grumbled, \u201cBesides, she just got up and left without even trying to ask for my help. Am I at fault for that too?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Hayden rolled his eyes and said, \u201cSecondly, you left while carrying Melody in your arms with all those people watching. You left Sienna standing on the stage by herself. Did you think any woman in their right mind wouldn\u2019t be upset if their husband did that?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cOh!\u201d Hayden\u2019s brows arched. \u201cHave you decided to quit your job and become a paramedic instead, Mr. Hale? Are you going to help every woman that trips and falls within your line of sight? Perhaps I should do that right in front of your house tomorrow.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cHayden.\u201d Clayton shot him a glare. \u201cAre you itching to get a beating?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThirdly, did you apologize to her afterward? You didn\u2019t even try to explain to her, did you?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Hayden continued, \u201cOr are you assuming that Sienna will magically understand the reason behind your actions?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
After a brief pause, Clayton snorted. \u201cShe left the house several times previously. She\u2019ll come back by herself in a few days.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
