She couldn’t stand Clayton’s shameless teasing anymore and shoved him away. “Get lost, you pervert!”

Clayton, however, used the momentum to pin her against the wardrobe door. His knee slid between her legs, and he grinned devilishly. “Who was it that used to say it felt best in the bathroom?”

“That was in the past!” Sienna kicked his shin hard and finally broke free, heading straight for the bathroom. “Right now, you’re about as appealing as day-old meat to me!”

The bathroom door slammed shut with a bang, followed by the sharp click of a lock.

Clayton stood in front of the mirror. What reflected back at him was a sharp-featured face and those cool yet deep dark eyes.

His shirt collar hung slightly open, making his collarbones faintly visible. His Adam’s apple shifted with each breath, carrying an almost ascetic allure. And yet, a rare trace of confusion flickered between his brows.

When Sienna finally stepped out of the bathroom, she froze at the sight before her. Where the hell did she just walk into? A nightclub?

She instinctively took a step back in disbelief. Clayton was shirtless on the floor, doing push-ups. The muscles in his shoulders and back bulged, bathed in the warm glow of the wall lamp. For a moment, he looked like one of those outrageously expensive male escorts in a club.

“You…” Sienna choked. “Did you switch careers to become a male stripper?”

Clayton pushed himself upright, breathing lightly. He dragged a hand across his sharply defined abs, looking completely unfazed. “I’m working out, so people won’t say I’m weak and need supplements.”

Sienna didn’t quite believe him. It felt suspiciously like he was showing off.

That suspicion was confirmed after Clayton finished showering. The belt of his black bathrobe hung loose, exposing most of his chest. A few droplets of water clung to his abs.

What little self-control Sienna had left nearly packed its bags and ran away. She hid under the covers, avoiding the overly seductive scene. Her voice was muffled as she said, “You’re sleeping on the couch tonight.”

“Why?” Clayton pressed a knee down on the mattress and dragged her into his arms. “This is my room, and it’s my bed.” “Then I’ll sleep on the couch!” Sienna tried to push him away, but he didn’t budge.

A burning hot hand suddenly slipped beneath her pajamas, fingers roaming over her skin. “So, you like the couch?”

His breath fanned against her ear, sending a chill through her.

Sienna forced her self-control back, grabbed his wandering hand, and said calmly, “Clayton, we’re getting divorced.” “We’ve slept together countless times already. Suddenly, you’re a prude?”

He snorted, gripping her chin and forcing a kiss on her. His lips carried the fresh taste of mint.

Her thoughts suddenly drifted back to three years ago, right after they got married. She had assumed he would avoid her entirely and had prepared herself for a lonely marriage.

However, he had said, “We’re already married. Not sleeping together would be a waste.”

So even without love, they never skipped their marital duties.

Back then, she had lied to herself, believing she could warm this block of ice with her own body. But it was nothing more than self-deception.

Chapter 10

2/2

Suddenly, without warning, Sienna blew a sharp breath straight into his mouth. Clayton’s cheeks puffed out as he choked, instinctively letting go of her.

“What the hell is wrong with you?” he shouted.

“I’m just helping you catch your breath, Mr. Hale. Wouldn’t want you to be too tired!” Sienna wiped her swollen lips and smiled brightly.

She had wanted to do that for a long time. Biting him was an option too, but Clayton might retaliate.

The atmosphere cooled instantly. Clayton’s expression darkened. “Do you have to ruin the mood?”

“If I don’t ruin it now, when should I?”

Sienna buttoned her wrinkled nightshirt and repeated firmly, “Mr. Hale, we’re getting divorced.”

Clayton dismissed it as her throwing a tantrum, not taking her seriously. “What are you pretending for? Three years ago, weren’t you the one who climbed into my bed, wanting me to sleep with you? Now, you’re acting all pure and righteous?”

“I was drunk that night.”

Sienna lifted her gaze and said seriously, “Besides, I booked the room. You were the one who climbed into my bed.”

Clayton’s handsome features gradually turned cold. “Stop acting innocent. What about the alcohol? That had nothing to do with you either?”

There it was again. For three years, Sienna had explained countless times, but he was convinced she and Samuel Stelton had set him up. She didn’t love him enough to resort to something so despicable.

Sienna was tired. She sat up and stared straight into his eyes. Then, as if facing her execution, she asked seriously, “Clayton, did you ever love me?”

Clayton gulped and said nothing. Silence flowed heavily between them.

Sienna clenched the bedsheet, waiting quietly for an answer. If he just said that he had loved her, she was willing to crush her

pride and try again.

In the end, he said, “I never loved you.”

Four simple words shattered every last hope. The light in Sienna’s eyes dimmed bit by bit, but she didn’t cry. She simply nodded lightly. “Then let’s get divorced with dignity.”

Clayton stood, tied his robe, grabbed a cigarette from the nightstand, and lit it. He turned his back to her as smoke curled

into the air.

“Why does love even matter? Three years ago, you were the one so desperate to be my wife. Now, you say you want to divorce and expect everything to go your way. Do you think I’m that easy to deal with? If we’re separating, it’ll be on my terms.”

Sienna felt as if she were being punished. She tested the waters, asking, “Then when do you plan to do it?”

Clayton took a drag of his cigarette, utterly indifferent. “When I feel like it.”

His shameless answer enraged her, and she kicked him in the lower back.

“If you want to smoke, go outside. I don’t want to die from your secondhand smoke. You also refuse to divorce me. Aren’t you just trying to kill me slowly?”

Clayton looked irritated but didn’t argue. He got up and went to the balcony to smoke.

The night breeze carried the fresh scent of grass, clearing Sienna’s head. She stared blankly ahead.

The room fell silent. Then Clayton’s phone on the nightstand rang suddenly, the screen lighting up in glaring white. Sienna glanced over instinctively. It was Melody calling.

She got the divorce and bolted 10 Chapter 10 1/3 Chapter 10 Sienna’s ears burned red.
