She wondered if she might have caught a cold.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When Jane saw that Bethany was finally awake, she quickly reheated the food she\u2019d prepared earlier.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMrs. Brennan, I made some chicken soup for you. Here, have some. I\u2019ll reheat the rest of your meal in the meantime.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bethany didn\u2019t see Silas in the dining room.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Noticing Bethany look around, Jane smiled and said, \u201cMr. Brennan went to work. He told me not to wake you.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bethany took a sip of the soup. \u201cI see.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She had wanted to rest at home for the rest of the day, but she received a call from the nursing home.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It was about Sarah, so Bethany quickly got dressed, grabbed her car keys, and left in a hurry.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sarah didn\u2019t understand why Diana\u2019s relationship with Bethany had become so tense.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDiana, when Beth arrives, you two should have a good talk. Beth is a good daughter. She wants to get closer to you, keep shutting her out. Beth used to be considerate and gentle, but ever since she got married, she\u2019s been acting differently.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sarah wanted to argue, but thought better of it. She didn\u2019t want to be too harsh.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cForget it. When Beth arrives, talk it out with her.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bethany hurried to the nursing home, thinking that maybe Sarah wasn\u2019t feeling well.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When she saw Diana in the garden, though, a flash of anger flared inside her.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Diana, as arrogant as ever, looked at Bethany and pursed her lips. \u201cIt\u2019s about time. I\u2019ve been waiting for you.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bethany took a deep breath but didn\u2019t look at Diana. Instead, she smiled sweetly at Sarah. \u201cGrandma, I\u2019ll push you over there to enjoy the sun.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sarah quickly said, \u201cBeth, have a good talk with your mother. Don\u2019t worry, I have your back.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bethany\u2019s eyes welled up instantly.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When she thought about how Diana hadn\u2019t visited the nursing home even once in all these years but was now causing trouble for Sarah over this, her anger flared up again.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She turned back to Diana. \u201cWhat do you want to say?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Of course, Diana wasn\u2019t happy with Bethany\u2019s attitude. \u201cBethany, is this how you talk to your mother?
