If I hadn\u2019t shown up, were you actually planning to apologize to that little bitch?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Hearing him referring to Ella as a \u201clittle bitch\u201c, Bethany felt strangely satisfied. \u201cI wasn\u2019t planning on apologizing to her.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Silas scoffed. \u201cGood, then. He leaned in, his knuckles brushing her lower abdomen. Bethany froze.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Noticing her tension, Silas smiled as he pulled the seatbelt over her body and secured it with a click.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>His gaze flicked to her flushed ears. \u201cAfraid that I\u2019ll eat you up? Don\u2019t worry. I was just helping you fasten the seatbelt.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bethany\u2019s face turned red. She couldn\u2019t even bring herself to look at him.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Silas knew better than to push her too far. So, he simply eased a foot onto the gas pedal and continued driving.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bethany noticed that he was heading toward her home. She glanced at her watch and told him, \u201cJust pull over and drop me off. I\u2019m going to the nursing home to visit my grandma.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Silas\u2018 expression shifted slightly. \u201cWhere is it?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bethany gave him a name. Silas then pulled up the navigation page. \u201cI\u2019ll come visit her with you. After all, I\u2019m technically her grandson\u2013in\u2013law now.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bethany was at a loss for words. We raised her with love and care.
