That idiot, Zachary, transferred 30% of Lambert Group\u2019s shares to you. He only has 5% of the shares now. She was about to make a call when a tall figure stepped out of a private elevator.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It was Tristan.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He seemed to have guessed that she would drop by. His expression was perfectly calm.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFollow me,\u201d he said before turning and walking toward the elevator.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When they reached his office on the top floor, the door had barely swung shut before Genevieve stopped holding back. You\u2019re using\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>How dare he make that decision for her?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If she wanted those shares, she wouldn\u2019t have needed his help!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy can\u2019t you just accept my help?\u201d Tristan asked, stepping toward her. His intimidating presence nearly overwhelmed her.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She looked up at him, meeting his gaze stubbornly. \u201cI don\u2019t want to have anything to do with you!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToo late for that.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Tristan\u2019s hands landed on either side of her, caging her between him and the wall.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He lowered his head. His warm breath made her ears grow hot as he said, \u201cWe were destined to be involved ever since you threw yourself at me.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re shameless!\u201d Genevieve hissed, shaking with anger. She lifted a hand, about to slap\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Tristan across the face.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, he managed to grab her by the wrist.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>His gaze\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>darkened even more. \u201cDon\u2019t make me angry, Gen. You\u2019ll understand some things\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>eventually.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Suddenly, Genevieve\u2019s phone rang. It was a call from an unsaved number.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Genevieve swatted Tristan\u2019s hand away and picked up.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr. Lambert Senior is\u2026 He\u2019s not going to make it. Mrs. Lambert, please come back!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When Genevieve finally reached the VIP ward of City Hospital, Zachary was standing outside the door to the hospital room. He was breathing shallowly.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When he saw Genevieve, he began to struggle, waving a hand at Zachary and the others as he gestured for them to go outside.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGo\u2026 go wait outside. I have\u2026 something to tell\u2026 Gen in private,\u201d he croaked out.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Zachary was clearly reluctant, but he didn\u2019t dare to go against Raymond. And so, he was forced to leave the room with the rest of the group.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Soon, only Raymond and Genevieve were left in the room.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChild\u2026\u201d Raymond said as he reached out to hold Genevieve\u2019s wrist with a bony, trembling\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>hand. \u201cCome here.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>www\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Genevieve walked toward him and sat down beside the
